Best team won the European Championship.
First major win since 1964.
Not too many Spaniards at work today.
Well done to them.

It took the Spainards 44 years since they last won a major trophy. Guess what the English media and horrific red tops will be catching on soon that when 2010 comes around it will be 44 years since Engerland last won a major trophy..oh please God no don't let that happen.

Hope we still host the 2010 World Cup.
Sepp Blatter says though he's still confident it will go ahead in SA, FIFA have a 'Plan B' in place, in case.
Would be a disaster for South Africa and Africa as a whole if we lose it.

Why should they take it away from SA, as SA has held the world athletic champs, the rugby world cup, african nations cup and the cricket world cup twice. I doubt if there would be much trouble..having said that if the English qualify then there will be trouble.

Our president's quiet condonation of Mugabe's tyranny on our borders and the resulting xenophobia, coupled with the crime, has ensured that confidence in our country is rather low world-wide at the moment.
However, one must remain optimistic that Mugabe goes, Mbeki's time in office expires and the situation improves.

The job creation and investment the World Cup brings is sorely needed here.

I think that Mugabe will be gone within a month. What beats me is that the British and Americans are just throwing words at him. If Zim had had black gold (oil) then Mugabe would have long been paid off and retired on the Florida Keys sipping marguerita's and puffing on his mates Havanna cigars.
