CHEVELEY STUD’S CLASSY CAPE DRAFT

Vaughan and Shirley Koster’s Cheveley Stud, breeders of this season’s sensational filly Snowdance, will present a high quality draft of six yearlings at the 2018 Cape Yearling Sale.

Philanthropist, whose son Singapore Sling ran second in the recent Hong Kong Classic Mile, is the sire of lot 10 – a filly out of a five time winning Joshua Dancer (also damsire of Snowdance) mare. The filly on offer (as Agent) is a half-sister to two winners including the stakes placed filly Silent Rush. This is the same family as recent G1 Summer Cup winner Liege.

Cheveley’s multiple G1 winning sire Wylie Hall has his first yearlings on sale this year and they include a filly out of a winning Fort Wood mare Valhalla (Lot 22). The latter is a half-sister to nine winners including exported G2 Selangor Cup winner Mercury Chief. This is the great Miss Lindeman family.

Wylie Hall, a son of legendary Australian champion sire Redoute’s Choice, is also responsible for lot 42 – a filly out of a half-sister to Oaks winner Rush For John. This is the same family as champion and multiple G1 winning filly Vesta.

The third lot in the draft by dual G1 winner Wylie Hall is an unnamed filly whose dam is a Fort Wood ¾ sister to this season’s impressive Listed KZN Guineas Trial winner Sir David Baird (Lot 66). This filly second dam is the G1 Elliodor mare Oceana –whose four stakes winning siblings include champion, and sire, Argonaut.

Former Equus Outstanding Stallion Judpot has a nice son in this draft in the form of lot 39. This bay colt, a half-brother to 2 good winners, is out of a Fort Wood half-sister to multiple G2 winner Roman Charger and is bred on the same Judpot/Fort Wood cross as G1 winning 2yo Forest Indigo.

Last, but definitely not least, in the Cheveley draft is lot 90, a bay colt by outstanding young More Than Ready sire Gimmethegreenlight. This colt, a half-brother to five winners, is out of a three time winning half-sister to the dam of G1 winning champion Kimberley Mine, and is from the same family as 2017 Japanese champion and G1 winner Lucky Lilac among others.

The Cape Yearling Sale will take place at the Mistico Equestrian Centre and the catalogue can be viewed online at www.bsa.co.za
