Phum is too scared that punters will bet into open-bet bookies using their, Phum's, wi-fi.

We know that the open bet is causing the tote a lot of problems and is certainly not good for racing in the long term.
Quite a few ideas exist for products that will virtually eliminate the attraction of the open bet for either punter or bookmaker but why should we bother when people have all the answers and where success does not befall racing anyway.

.....duh.....then have a dedicated open site for TAB and Betting World and a "how to " tutorial....
something is better than nothing at all.....and to stop the fear of migration to the open bet....then jack up and improve..... believe me plenty room for that....but sitting around and having the occasional road show to preach to the converted is not going to turn it around....nor is showing a clip of a helicopter gunship to stamp out would be TT piracy....what are these okes still stuck in the 80's.....

Some years back when the Elevation room was improved an internet cafe was installed. Today, it is non-existent.

I'm sure it was advertised because that was how I got to know about it. One Summer Cup meet and soon after the ELEVATION was refurbished (+10 years ago?) I found the cafe with about four desk-tops but no-one could assist me with password details and so I abandoned the potential thrill.

7 years 4 months ago.....well then there you go....best intentions ...but with little or no follow through....a symptom that is very prevalent with those at the operator.... :SMac wrote: I'm sure it was advertised because that was how I got to know about it. .....we still have not found out why the tote/TAB Online continues to give "hiccups/f@ckups" either
....no f@cking follow through....no f@cking clue.....just continue to drive the once thinking man into the arms of the open bet.....

I must say for a country this small horse racing is big, has always been big.. it surprises me... would love to know the % contribution of our number of horses in training and in the stud farms to the world total vs our GDPS contribution to the world total

Focusing on burger and beer fans would probably bring bigger crowds than the champagne and nae knicker crowd.
