As the late Rob Faux would say “yet another black eye for Phum”.

I also guess, that in the post Marcus Jooste era, Phum’s strategy against the open bet bookies will be re-prioritized by others.

Paragraphs 60 and 61 are the coup de grace.
Phumelela is screwed beyond repair.
Obviously they will seek leave to appeal.
Multichoice owns everything.

Was Marshall’s case not a piracy thing?

.....at least Marshalls offer tote betting facilities on their premises....giving customers a choice....if I were them I would pull them out and go full open bet like many others that got shafted and pushed around by the operator....these guys offer great service and Moodley and co could learn from them how customers should be treated....but instead got very petty with this court action....

Bob I skimmed through the judgement and it seems that P could not prove a case of piracy against Marshall's because they(Marshall's) are showing a live broadcast/stream in their stores and not recording and reshowing/reselling, and that the live broadcast is deemed to be owned by MultiChoice.

As I said I skimmed through the judgement so I might be totally off the mark and stand to be corrected. Maybe other members' of the forum can cast more clarity.
