Meydan Thursday/Saturday
7 years 3 months ago
Trainer Mike de Kock has filed notes on Blue Stable’s runners at Meydan’s meetings to be staged on Thursday and Saturday.
FEBRUARY 15, 2018
Meydan Thursday
Race 7: Handicap on turf over 1600m
“Suyoof (photo) is doing well, he’s in good form and if he brings his best to the track has a winning chance. Icy Air probably needs another run to come to his peak, but he has lost some weight and is likely to improve tonight.”
Meydan Saturday
Race 2: Handicap on turf over 1800m
“Baroot comes off two good runs and this is his peak run, we expect him to be very competitive.”
Race 6: Handicap on turf over 1800m
“Bold Rex was disappointing last time, but we’re bringing him back to a shorter trip and a good run is possible.”
Race 7: Handicap on turf over 1400m
“Dream Dubai needed his last run badly and was drawn wide. He should improve, has place prospects.” – mikedekockracing.com

fond memories of Suyoof's win over Bravo Zolo last year..sticking it in a multiple & taking it as a single too. Hopefully pilot Jim Crowley gets us home.
I like Natural Scenery (beaten fav lto) in the penultimate to reverse form with Prince of Arran. Also going for the dobbs/Watto combo in the opener with paddy's day.

Alabaster has blown the start on both his previous two runs but still managed to make up ground and finish 3rd both times, so if he can get an even jump then can win.

Couple of days back Anthony Oppenheimer said it is highly unlikely. No final decision has been made, but that is as good as it gets. Main fear being that it makes it a long season if they go to Dubai. This is obviosuly in mind that connections deliberately missed last season's Arc because they felt the Frankel colt was still growing. That Champion stakes victory showed what growing he had done. Exciting animal. Injury free, him versus stablemate, Enable in the Arc is all the reason I need to live.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

This time he jumps fine, then what does the jockey do? He rides the horse 4 wide around the entire bend and the horse runs out of puff two out. Hey but what do i know, I do support Arsenal and the Proteas and that should tell the story.

 how could i forget the Stormers
Sir Maximilian has a nice finish, needs to be about 3 lengths off approaching the final furlong has a good turn of foot, ran well last time finishing 3rd. Exacta with Dutch Masterpiece.
