SCOTIA ON THE JULY WEEKEND.
16 years 11 months ago
Good morning to the CLAN as we approach the JULY weekend.
Had a good evening last night, went out with Mrs S for her ** th birthday, think this is the oldest person I have ever been in bed with?
I do remember in my youth going to the Cavendish on a Thursday night in Edinburgh for "grab a granny night"? and my record was a 40 year old, they say the older the more grateful?
I will close the subject considering Mrs S "never" reads the site and leave it at that.
Just want to mention the restaurant, the food and service is superb, I had a home baked venison pie, highly recommended, "PASCALIS", Faeriedale centre, Cliffendale Drive, Faerie Glen Pretoria. well worth a visit.
So I am sure you all have your selections for the big race and wish you well, personally my bigger punts will be on the other races, but still think the 14/10 a place on Pocket Power with Interbet is a blinder.
I hear the big T is also a full house on Sat. so look forward to a fun/profitable day and looking forward to meeting a few new CLAN members.
I did have a few bad results last week and to recover some money I entered a strawberry picking competition and was just beaten by a woman with no legs "the jammy tw@t".
I asked Mrs S what she would like for her birthday and she asked for me to change the bedroom t.v. from Tellytrack to the local news, bloody depressing, its like watching Carte Blanche, the political front is still cause for concern and the Mugabe story remains a shocker! I watched some Chinese punters happy that they were classified as previously disadvantaged? but as far as I am concerned, two wongs don't make a white [and don't take offence] solly, it was a yoke..
Was glad to see the reaction from blackpearlbetting when a post on the site asked for betting on the winning trainer for the July, they priced up in minutes, well done!
The full racing events for this weekend are as follows,
Arlington,Kranji,Sandown,Southwell,Warwick,Beverly,Haydock,Salisbury,Gloucester,Turffontien,Greyville,Mauritius,Sandown,Haydock,Beverly,Carlisle,Nottingham,
Leicester,Ayr,Ngong,Turffontien,Brighton,Market Rasen, and Sheparton. and I remember we used to race on a Wed and Sat only, so where everyone was pushing for a 40 hour week the bookies had it great, now they are 24/7/363 , its time we had racing on Christmas and Easter to give the punters a chance to win our money back.
I am glad that "the battle of the Forums" has cooled off, I feel a few people are licking their wounds and a couple of damaged reputations have to be repaired, but I can see a change in the nature of posts towards racing issues rather than personal attacks, which imo is a step in the right direction to sustain a future service for the Sport of Kings, I am sure we all want the Forums to continue, so lets have a bit fun and a few winners and can hope the tension last week will not be so evident on Saturday.
I am off, have a busy day ahead and want to have a clear mind for the big day.
Good Punting

Good morning to the CLAN, and must say had a great day at the big T, things were rather expensive before the Pocket Power result and it ended being a winning day and a great race.
It was great to meet AB, who I am glad to say was a BIG winner on the day and as normal the food was first class and all the facilities were full.
I look forward to the first couple of races today and all the best to Jim and Mark.
If you are reading this Mark, could you ask young Peter to give me a call.
good punting!
