Horse Racing Track in Mpumalanga

In the Business Section of Sunday Times of 18th March,pge 5, there was a Public Notice from The Mpumalanga Economic Regulator.

The wording was "Expression of Interest to develop,own and operate a Horse Racing Track in the Mpumalanga Province"

Other info and contact details were specified.

Anybody know what this is all about?

Fuck. This has been talked about for years. Like everything else, nothing will ever happen. IMO.

who is applying and who is linked to it?

Why? We can't get Turffs half full on any day - Anyone investing in this must hate their money - I live 20km from turffs and you would have to pay me to drive there so why would I ever think of driving to MP? I know many punters and I can't recall when last I heard "going to the course" (owners are different and I do get requests to go racing often from these generous folks)- I'm sure sanity will prevail

There could be an upside which would be the possibility of receiving a totalisator licence which happens to be in very short supply.

i passed my local mall and I see someone is opening a Video shop... the Mall management want 1 year rent upfront - I wonder why?
