Thank you all for the good wishes regarding Zanadu.

We were delighted with her performance.

Points to note :

This young jockey was the very first rider who has manged to get her to jump on terms. He was also under strict instructions not to use the whip as it has only unbalanced her in each of her last three runs. Although she does not have a great deal of speed she will keep finding for (we hope!) at least 1200 metres further than today's distance.

She has certainly started to strengthen up. As many people don't understand that horses only reach maturity at 5 (by which time the s***t has been hammered out of them & their abused physiques are usually carrying permanent injuries) she may well go on to do better. Here's hoping!

She lives and works in a beautiful environment with all of her training taking place on Noordhoek beach accompanied by regular paddock time with real grass!!!

I will always keep you all in the loop.

Don't know why more of these unfashionable jockeys don't use the same tactics employed by Ashby there. It's so easy to fool these Cape jockeys especially seeing as Fourie is not there today.

Remember this result and watch this space, ....
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

I am perhaps an old cynic so I will throw that form into my decades old bin - "Cape Races to ignore"
