I have Zanadu contesting the 16:17 event over 2000m on Saturday. Here's what you need to know :
1.) The trainer advises that she is fit & well.
2.) We are using this race to sharpen her up for the Maiden 2500m at the end of April. As there are only about 4 races per annum for maiden stayers in Cape Town we are often forced to race her in events a little short of her best. There are no races at all for staying maiden fillies/mares.
3.) We are hoping to get her through the race without the panel beating that was applied in her last three starts and which caused her to duck out & temporarily lose her action. Maybe this time the jockey will heed that specific instruction. I live in hope.
It's difficult to recommend her as a serious runner but I would caution that she could pop up on us.
Please be aware that I do not punt my own horses.

Garrick am wondering aloud.....with due respect I think a stronger jock is needed to urge Xanadu along....maybe a another 2800m race will get you into the number one.....
I will be hoping you get in tomorrow.

R2, Master's Spirit (5/1), should run a lot closer to Phelan Lucky (22/10) at the weight turn-around, conceded 5.0kgs for a 1.25 length beating, concedes 2.5 kgs tomorrow. Master's Spirit's record at Durbanville is okay, two runs for a win and a close second.
R3, Miss Smarty Pants (7/10), will not get a better opportunity at breaking out the maiden ranks than this. If she does not put this field away, then her future looks really bleak.
R4, Above Eleven (9/2), down in class and should reverse the placings with Sequined (5/1). Pearl Jam looks the danger.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

GIMMIE A COHIBA - try watch last run replay - head on - Hoop upgrade tommorow...For me this guy looks like he could be at least a genuine 85-90 by year end - The type that could possibly stay in the Cape and have a go at the first two legs Winter Series- Still looks soft and way immature...
