Should Vaping Be Mandatory in SA racing

Good Evening All,

I have in the past mentioned the nauseating post race interviews that form part of everyday racing in South Africa. I half get it, its all happiness and wonderfulness. It is the GREATEST feeling leading in a winner and of course we should rejoice. The nauseating part is the constant thanking of irrelevant people.

2 weeks ago i fell foul of the "not blowing smoke up there arse" syndrome while previewing a race at Durbanville. It was a non descript 2 year old race and no real money indicators as to the likely winner. After dissecting the race I was asked for an OPINION on the race.

My opinion was as follows:

I think i will probably go for Frozen Tune as i feel that the 2nd run was not on par with the debut and i actually think that the turn will play into this horses favour.

Host: What about the Fav Bountiful Strength.

Me: " Can win but not for me. I don't like its make up , i don't like it when horses run a cracker 1st time out at a big price for example. I also don't like the sire. "

Anyways Bountiful strength won...... egg on face and all.

3 days later i get an sms from someone telling me John Freeman has been on my twitter page.

His tweet to me:
" your preview of Cape racing on Sat was poor - you gave the winner Bountiful Strength "no chance" because you didn't like the sire. For your info:- Jackson has excellent report from the experienced trainers that have his 2yo's - watch this space !"

So i read this a few times and a few things come to mind.

In the last 10 years I've mentioned sires 786 times. Some in favour and some not. BUT not once has anyone come on and said " cheers pal for liking my sire" not once.

Then i thought about it more and i realised that actually all i had done was have an opinion. I was not rude, i was not dramatic. I simply have an opinion.

Imagine that an opinion in horse racing. WOW must be a novelty for a pundit to have an opinion. Now things might be different in SA where people are permanently told to tow the line and keep blowing smoke up everyones arse but perhaps just perhaps its now time for

Vaping to be introduced to SA racing.

Here are my replies to Mr Freeman (he has not replied)

1st reply

"Correct I don't like the sire As i don't like Louis The King and i never liked Jallad. One never gets it right (as you know) in fact i fully understand your job is to promote said stallion. For me as a buyer /investor in SA racing i have paid enough school fees to have an opinion"

2nd Reply
"Now Master Of My Fate on the other hand is a MACHINE. I think he will be the NEXT coming. We are blessed to own Surcharge's half sister by MOMF and we are super exited. So there you go another opinion ......"

As you can see I'm not the best nor the worst judge. I got it horribly wrong with Jallad but I'm on form with the others.

I writing this in the spirit of freedom of thought. Freedom of opinion and freedom of speech.

Should Jackson be the best sire since Danehill or Northern Dancer ill be wrong and Mr Freeman will be ecstatic. But thats all be is wrong in my opinion, it wont make my happy or sad, it wont change my mind.

Im off for a puff.........just in case i offend anyone while i do Greyville tomorrow.

or i can just get it off my chest once and for all

I love everyone, all trainers are great, all jockeys are great, all breeders are great, all foals are great , all sires are great , all dams are great, the tote is great, bookmakers are great, potholes are great, transport companies are great, phumelela is great, life is great, yearlings are great, cobalt is great......and Zietsman Ooosthuisen is Great
