Will the stipes give him a long holiday ?
Doubt it.Would he have got a penalty if he had won that race?If not then they got nothing to gain but if he would have then the stipes should maybe question the jock on why he thought he didn't have to use the whip.Might have even been over confident but to me that wasn't the normal vigorous Bernard in the saddle.

AGREE; but nothing will happen because he "did nothing wrong"...

I have just watched the sprint again, and i can’t agree with the criticism of the ride on Sgt Hardy. First time on the right hand bend, this horse, which has a tendency to hang to the left, was kept in a straight line and was ridden out, albeit with hands and heels. There was no chance of a penalty from the handicapper even if he had won, so that theory holds no water. The horse is being prepped for the gr 1 sprints to come and would not have been fully wound up yet. A very good run, and I doubt whether the whip would have helped.

Thanks PeterD.You sure know what you talking about so I wouldn't disagree with you but you don't think a little bit more effort or maybe just one smack to see if it takes off could have made the difference?

Both of Snaith"s horses were having prep runs, Sargaent having 62kg on his back and first run since 27/1..top sort and good ride.
