"I've won this race a thousand times in my head, in my dreams as a child," he said, recalling how he built pretend National fences out of grass as a child when the garden was mowed.
"We would have races over them and kick the grass into the air like the spruce flying."

"We parted company after the most legendary cup of tea in Irish racing..."

Blaklion (7/1) in the National and Roaring Lion (10/1) in the 2000 Guineas.
R100 EW and if it wins then it will pay for my Air Ticket to UK to watch Southampton in the FA Cup.
My reason for backing Blacklion is that he has been obviously laid out for the race, lightly raced this season, proven over the course, got a good jockey/trainer and did NOT run at CHELTENHAM!
Having said that you have to take into consideration that a 200/1 shot with OR without a jockey on board could easily take him out
The bad news is that as I predicted Blacklion got brought down at the 1st!!!!!!!!!!
The good news is that by putting No 30 in my PA I was able to collect

Well done, Dave! Hell of a thing to find the winner of the National. I haven't managed to do that since I backed Hedgehunter at 25/1 back in the day; weeks before it was backed into favourite.
By my reckoning that must be the first horse you have punted successfully that wasn't odds on. Lol. Bet you needed an underwear change after the last 200m. Winner almost did a 'Crisp'.
Pointer for punters who follow jumps racing : You can follow Bryony Frost - I believe she might mature into the best English female jumps rider we have seen (She rides in a similar style to Noel Fehilly and you all know how good he is) although she still has some way to go before she matches Nina Carberry.
