I was very sad to hear of Derek's passing recently. None of us who frequented racing in the 80's and early 90's could ever forget this guy. I was on passing acquantice terms with him after many hours at the rooms and course and on more than one occasion made good money after he kindly gave me the nod to back something.

Rip Derek. my memory of him is a top footballer as good as his brother Ricky until the punting
became his hobby.

Rest in Peace Mr Flynn.
Read an obituary on the Paul Lafferty website that Ronnie Samuels passed away in March 2018. He owned Sydneys Dream which at one stage was the most expensive horse bought in South Africa. May he Rest in Peace as well.
