Heard that he is now the all-time highest scoring European in international soccer...been some greats of the past that don't have that accolade...

I watched the documentary that was shown of the 1990 World Cup in Italy...Klinsmann and Voeller were cheaters of the highest order...Voeller even took a dive to get the deciding penalty 5 minutes from the end of 90...

in a match at the 90 WC Hollands Rijkaard spat at Voeller both players were sent off. Cameroon won the opening match beating Argentina in one of the biggest ever shocks

Yes...saw those also...lasting memory of that World Cup (was the first one we got to see live on SA tv) is the match between Brazil and Argentina...Brazil hit the bar 2 or 3 times, the Argentine goalkeeper made a few good saves and Maradona was marked by two Brazilians such that he was hacked down almost every time he got the ball...the one time he did get space, he turned his marker and played Canniggia through to score and knock out Brazil...similar to pass he made to Burruchaga to score winner in 1986 final against West Germany...

Having got the win against Morocco, it seems that Iran playing to pick up point against Spain...all players behind the ball...Spain may have 90% of the ball today...

Any player that moves their trailing leg out to be caught by a defender should be carded...too often, players nudge the ball too far and have lost control of the ball only to be awarded a free kick when they "hook" their trailing leg by moving it out...the diving and acting to win detracts from any skill the player may have or display...

hopefully VAR is going to put an end to that and also all the other cheating that goes on. The media hate VAR because there is no controversy and controversy brings viewers and tweets thus a loss of revenue

Cameroon won when the goalkeeper fluffed a simple save from a header...he was replaced for the rest of the tournament by a guy called Goycochea who saved penalties in 2 of the knock-out matches to get Argentina to the final...only to lose to a penalty in the final...

Doesn't sound like it...just the drone of the crowd...
