the only reason this has come in is to stop washing money....no other reason.
the game is simple.......
48 on red
48 on black
4 on zero
over and over and over and over again......
collect ticket from till and ask for cheque or transfer or even just a slip to show it comes from a machine then off to the bank to deposit and voila.....clean as a whistle
rates for washing range from 8% to 20% so this is a far cheaper way ....or WAS
Been harder to do for years, bookmakers refuse to pay out the money launderers

They were a max £100 a spin and every 12 seconds.Ive seen poor souls lose their home, family and in some cases their lives. They are called the crack cocaine of gambling for a reason.
That's why you have multiple bookmakers on every high street and our unscrupulous bookmakers don't have to lay a bet to punters who like the geegees and sports betting.
Maybe now instead of preying on the vulnerable they may actually try and earn a living the right way.
Awesome news!

Definitely
In the Racing Post over the weekend there were a number of full page adverts taken out by high street bookmakers urging people to contact their local MP's to encourage them to the smaller stakes.
Rationale was that there would be 4,000 shop closures, loss of 20,000 jobs, etc.
No mention of the misery that FOBT's cause, mind you.
So happy with this decision and, without being overly political, its nice to see a Tory government overturn a ruinous Labour policy (thanks Blair!)

virtual racing will now be the thing. They will promote it and let short prices come in so that people will get hooked.

Culture Secretary Matt Hancock said the government was 'taking a stand' by imposing the dramatic cut on the amount which can be wagered and lost on fixed odds betting terminals (FOBTs).
However, ministers have stopped short of saying exactly when the reduction will come into force - saying they will allow firms a 'reasonable' amount of time to adjust.
A year? 2 years? 5 years? this U turning Government wont put this into practice.

Government announced that the law will come into affect in another two years, just enough time to destroy another couple of thousand families
