GREYVILLE RACE 7 19 MAY

I cannot believe that the Stipes report contains nothing about the winner or jockey shifting sharply inwards causing 4 horses to shift & check and ultimately the jock on Steel Rose to become dislodged.

First the starting gate incident is missed then the race report contains nothing about Faydherb almost causing 5 jocks to come down with reckless riding.

Maybe I have missed something in the race or reason why that was acceptable but that is what I saw.

Faydeherbe rode the winner while Van Niekerk rode African Night Sky who caused the interference.

From what I saw on Sat (and I have not watched any replays), I seem to remember that the winner drifted in alarmingly over the last 300 or so - didn't actually see ANS causing interference, but I my have missed that ....

My opinion is Faydherb should get a long holiday but that's based on my interpretation of the race.

I have watched the replay a couple of times - imo the both jocks (Fayd'herbe and Fourie) should be in trouble - the winner as I mentioned before shifted in sharply and caused the horse next to her to drift in as well - at the same time ANS shifted out for a stride or two for no apparent reason, with the result that Steel Rose became the meat in a dagwood - any reports on the jock after his fall ?

I see Steel Rose is running in the Daily News .... a good run there and the 200/1 being offered for the July will be trimmed to double figures

For me when the Stipes report contains nothing of the incident it is worrying, Bernard will believe that this is something he and other jocks are allowed to do. As we know this will happen again during the main season and then there will be action which just highlights the inconsistency.

It amazes me that in Hong Kong with no false rail the jocks generally keep the horses on a straight line, last Saturday with no false rail at Greyville our jocks just decided to bunch up and cause interference all day. The Stipes in Hong Kong would react very differently....
