Tiirzan ends up paying 3.70 a win 1.10 a place and Shenanegans 3.70 a win and 1.70 .

the ruling is the horse that finishes infront of the other is declared tote favorite.

Has this rule changed????

I always thought it was down to the decimal point that we don't see. If A is paying R3,71 and B is paying R3,74 then A would be tote favorite.

From what I know you are correct. Decimal points, come into play.

this was definately not applied in this situation

both displayed 3.70 a tote win

I have checked the KZN Gambling Board Site and what you have stated is correct. To my knowledge, I have always thought decimal points come into play and this still could be the case but we do NOT have the option to see the precise decimal points. In the cases I know, I never seen every time that the highest finisher of the joint tote favorite being declared the official tote favorite.


5.9.6.3. In the event of joint totalisator favourites being declared in a particular
race, a scratched horse to be substituted by the totalisator favourite in terms of
Rule 5.9.6.1 shall be substituted with the joint totalisator favourite which is highest
placed in the order of finishing of that race.

I thought it was worked out to decimals ?

By joint tote favorites do they mean right till the last decimal point or rounded off....

TWO RULES have been quoted on here already none have been applied in both races or at least one race
