"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon Session' Wednesday 9 July Workings.
16 years 10 months ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon's session completed and went as follows:
The 1st runner we wanted 3.1 and with being around 3.2 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond under good support, we had a lay at 3.1 max. The lay raced very keenly most of the way, but still went and won! so looks a class horse to be fair and the way it goes....
The 2nd runner we wanted 2.44 and with being a well supported 2.14 on arrival, we had a lay at 2.14. The price then went for a big walk out to our own price of 2.75 and beyond, so a chance for a 'free' lay for traders and builders. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result.....
The 3rd runner we wanted 3.5 and with being a very well supported 2.54 on arrival, we had a lay at 2.54. The lay was nicely beaten and so the gamble foiled and a good result........
The 4th runner we wanted 3.5 and with getting around 3.3 on arrival, we had a lay at 3.3. The lay looked in trouble, but ground out a win, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it......
The 5th runner we wanted 2.9, but a non runner and 12.9% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.66. The price was around 2.98 on arrival and never came down to us at any stage, so a race to avoid for all. The runner was easily beaten, so the drift justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'........
The 6th runner we wanted 3.5 and with getting 3.3 and slightly shorter on arrival, we had a lay at 3.3 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.8 and slightly beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result......
The 7th runner we wanted 2.2 and with being a well supported 1.96 on arrival we had a lay at 1.96. The price then went for a big walk and out to our own price of 2.5 and beyond, so another chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result........
The 8th runner we wanted 2.5 and with being around 2.38 on arrival and shortening, we had a lay at 2.38 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result.......
The 9th runner we wanted 2.1 and with being around 1.8 and shortening on arrival, we had a lay at 1.8 max. There's only a bit of trading left on offer now with all strategy play completed, so I'm leaving it there and will finalise this evening's workings. Good luck trading the remainder.
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED......................(2 from the first 4 (50%) went and won, so not an easy start and mix that with annoying drifters (when they lose) and it's a frustrating session. However, we came through unscathed)
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Finished Level.........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner and after a battle they ended up recouping on their last and final lay (the 6th runner) and so they finish levels with not enough left to start another strategy/target.....
'Bank builder' strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 1st runner) at 3.1 max, but a poor result see them go behind early.......They then had a 'free' lay (the 2nd runner) that bought a tiny profit.........Then came their 2nd lay (the 3rd runner) at 2.54 and a good result see them win a big chunk back........They then had their 3rd lay (the 4th runner) at 3.3, but a poor result see them go a little more behind.....They then had another 'free' lay (the 6th runner) that bought a tiny profit..........Then another 'free' lay (the 7th runner) that bought another tiny profit...........Then they had their 4th lay (the 8th runner) at 2.38 max and a good result see them back levels, so with 4 runner players level anyhow and 5 runner players levels with just one potential lay left and no room now for error, builders walk away level.....
Bank builder 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
1st lay £100 to win as much of the £100 target @ 3.1 max. Result negative. Lose £100
Total bank now £300
'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £10
Total bank now £310
2nd lay £103 to recoup as much of the £90 @ 2.54. Result positive. Win £67
Total bank now £377
3rd lay £188 to recoup the £23 @ 3.3. Result negative. Lose £53
Total bank now £324
'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £8
Total bank now £332
'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £7
Total bank now £341
4th lay £341 to recoup the £59 @ 2.38 max. Result positive. Win £59
Total bank now £400
Overall result. Level.
***************************************
Bank builder 5 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
1st lay £80 to win as much of the £100 target @ 3.1 max. Result negative. Lose £80
Total bank now £320
'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £8
Total bank now £328
2nd lay £82 to recoup as much of the £72 @ 2.54. Result positive. Win £53
Total bank now £381
3rd lay £127 to recoup the £19 @ 3.3. Result negative. Lose £44
Total bank now £345
'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £6
Total bank now £351
'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £5
Total bank now £356
4th lay £178 to recoup the £44 @ 2.38 max. Result positive. Win £44
Total bank now £400
So with one potential lay left and being level, there's no room at all for error now, so they end it here.
Overall result. Level.

'Traders' had to concede a little on the 1st runner at 3.1 max, but all others see them win a bit or break level, so they walk away a little in profit, so well played and good luck with the remainder..
So a tough start mixed with drifters made us work this afternoon, but we can only do what we can and so levels at worst it was. Speak soon with this evening's workings.
Marc.
