Gunter is in hospital after the fall. I received the following message from his wife Sam, last night -
Gunter has broken his jaw and other bones in his face. His arm is also swollen and they are worried about blood flow to his hand so are monitoring that. He has just been admitted to Trauma ICU at Milpark, so he is in good hands. He is struggling to breathe now because of the swelling and so they are busy inter-bating him now. Hopefully that works else they will need to do a tracheotomy. Then they will determine the next steps.
Later I received the following
Just seen the doctor, he is critical but stable . He has a ventilator breathing for him and they have had to put him in an induced coma. Only once the swelling subsides can they do surgery on his face and will keep monitoring his arm and the blood flow. It’s a very serious case and now all we can do is pray.
He is in our prayers.
