Jooste was the driving force behind Phumelela bailing out the sinking ship that was Western Cape racing when they were members of Gold Circle. Western Cape contribution was so shit the KZN boys couldnt wait to get shod of them and what a great result it has been for them. The albatross is now firmly around Phumelelas neck and I wonder how long it will be before they are offloaded as the junk status partner that they are.

Give it to PE. In my opinion it would make perfect sense to close Cape racing entirely over the winter months. All the decent horses are in KZN and those that have stayed are resting.

This is the time the smaller yards and smaller owners have their few winners.
