UK & Kilbeggan Monday

Pretty dire stuff today, but....
R1 Southwell Shaiyzar E/W @11/1 - favourite is the most likely winner, but is way too short.

Southwell
Southwell - Good - Dry overnight and settled fc - 25c fc and been watering to take the sting out of good to firm ground yesterday
2.15 2 prolific PTP winner, landed a hefty gamble on Rules debut at Ffos Las for Bowen last week, dropped out but cruising through hard on bridle with field strung out all over Wales, will go up over a stone for that and chucked in here under the penalty, likely to land the odds with little to beat on paper
2.45 3 lightly raced and gaps between his runs, ran very well on chase debut at Huntingdon, touched off by Youngoconnor with the pair 17l clear of the rest, conditions similar here with LH track likely to suit better as jumped left a few times, has scope to do better on hurdling form, not 100pc straightforward off the bridle and cheekpieces on first time might help too....4 stable switcher from W Burke in Eire to red hot Skelton, 1 win from 20 over there and 0 from 6 over fences, most runs on deep ground and clearly could improve two stone on previous efforts now with this stable, cash significant later on in either direction.....1 typical Jonjo mixed bag, not progressing for ready win at Warwick in March, strong traveller on his day and first time cheekpieces might sweeten, conditions ideal if back on song and this is a slight drop in company
3.15 competitive 3/1 the field handicap....5 won 1 from 3 over fences, positively ridden and front two trapped clear in fair Worcester handicap last time, showing the benefit of recent wind op and seeing things out really strongly, gone up 10lb in one hit which makes life tougher and this will be more about speed on quicker ground/sharper track.....3 yard flying, smooth travelling weak finisher who needs to do it on the bridle as curls up when ridden, this track suits ideally on fast ground, 0 from 6 over fences and while sure to give running again he is too short for win purposes here.....4 frustrating sort who can run a stinker, snapped losing run when off mark at 3rd attempt over fences at Fakenham, weak level in small field there and 5lb rise makes life harder
3.45 1 hefty order on debut for the Good Doctor, just denied by Yensir at Fakenham in true run race where front three 27l clear of the rest, winner has defied a penalty since at higher level, has potential to improve for in form yard and standout claims...6 typical Evan work in progress, 3rd to Francky du Berlais on hurdling debut at 20/1 at Ffos Las, catching eye under educational ride, sense will be aimed at a handicap and that form flattering, 1st and 2nd beaten since...... 7 placed all three runs in Eire at modest level, has now joined small yard and cash the guide on UK debut, chance he will regress and form level not upto 1 either..... 2 record of 0 from 19 under Rules, been disappointing over fences of late and lots to prove back over timber
1 4/6f 6 8/1 7 8/1 2 8/1 16/1 bar
4.15 competitive 4/1 the field mares handicap, plenty of pace on with 6 and 7 both best from the front....1 model of consistency granted decent ground and a test of speed, winning 4 from 20 over hurdles and has won two over this CD and finished second on three other occasions, sets the standard for all mark now sums her up and has 11-12 to lump...4 juvenile hurdle form is only weak from last season and has not worked out, did win on the AW 13 days ago so clearly comes here fit and well, mark of 112 no bargain at all on jumps form....3 good yard, very quiet at the moment and very few runners, this one 1 from 5 over hurdles, ran very well when 3rd to Ready and Able after five months off at Huntingdon, drop back to bare 2m will help and open to more improvement, should go close
4.45 competitive 3/1 the field handicap....5 yard flying, 30pc past 14 days, won 2 from 3 since joining Skelton/wind op, only defeat coming over this CD in a muddling contest, 8lb rise for Uttoxeter win on the stiff side and this is a stronger contest on paper, likely to be underpriced
5.15 competitive 4/1 the field handicap, little form on offer so cash informative....1 small yard quiet, 0 from 3 over hurdles, fair 2nd to Itll do Rightly last time at Catterick and handicap debut here from a potentially lenient mark, cash the guide to wellbeing after 188 days off ....5 caught the eye on stable debut at Uttoxeter, unbacked and claimer ridden, dropped out and on bridle until home turn in rear, then immediately very tired and tailed off 6th, thought he might drop down in trip so still big stamina concerns at this trip again, Harry replaces the claimer and cash this time clearly interesting if that run was needed
5.45 5 fully exposed and hard to win with for previous yard, revitalised by Keighley and very impressive winner of both handicaps at Stratford and Worcester, could be named the winner before the home straight last time as cantering all over them, now upto 107 and 13lb higher than first win, still thriving and good claimer up again, sets the standard with conditions fine....11 work in progress to get a mark, well backed 3/1f and improved 3rd on handicap debut at Bangor, just onepaced up the straight in fast run race, more to come and sure to go close with some improvement, 10lb claimer up lacks experience
