"Group" RESULTS - 'Sunday Session' 13 July Workings.
16 years 10 months ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon completed and went as follows:
The 1st runner we wanted 2.4 and with being around 2.44 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond under good support, we had a lay at 2.4 max. The lay went and won, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it....
The 2nd runner we wanted 2.6 and with being around 2.5 on arrival and shortening, we had a lay at around 2.5 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result.......
The 3rd runner we wanted 1.8 and with being around 1.93 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond under good late support, we had a lay at 1.8 max. The lay went and won, so the gamble landed and the way it goes. Traders did get their trade back prices in running, so got away with it......
The 4th runner we wanted 3.1 and with drifting to around 4.4 on arrival and getting bigger, race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr. Early traders happy though.......
The 5th runner we wanted 2.6, but a non runner and an 8.3% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.47. The price was a well supported 2.02 on arrival and so we had a lay at 2.02. The lay was nicely beaten and so a good result........
The 6th runner we wanted 2.5 and with being around 2.24 on arrival and shortening (hit odds on), we had a lay at 2.24 max. The lay was beaten after a battle, so a good result........
The 7th runner we wanted 3.5 and with drifting to around 3.6 on arrival and only getting bigger, race to racers never see the lay price after arrival and so had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr. Early traders happy though........
The 8th runner we wanted 1.8 and with being around 2.04 on arrival and only getting slightly bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage, so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won very well, so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave.........
The 9th runner we wanted 2.9, but with drifting to around 3.7 on arrival and not coming back down to us, race to racers had to avoid another race. The runner went and won a battle, so a nice priced winner, but glad of the drift and a good leave........
The 10th runner we wanted 2.32 and with drifting to around 3.7 on arrival and only getting bigger, it was another race to avoid for race to racers. The runner was beaten and so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr. Early traders happy though.......
The 11th runner was a withdrawal and so on to the next runner.....
The 12th runner we wanted 3.5 and with drifting to around 4.1 on arrival and then dropping back down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 3.5 max. The lay went and won, so the late money correct and the way it goes. Traders got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.........
The 13th and final runner we wanted 1.6 and with being around 2.36 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten after a battle, so the drift justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'..........
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED.....................(2 from the first 3 (66.66%) went and won - 4 from the first 9 (44.44%) went and won - and 5 from the 11 (45.5%) in total - So mix that with far too many drifters and it was a tough and awkward session. However, we dealt with it well and walked away with the money, or levels, so well played/battled)
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) conceded 0.2 of a target at the very worst............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner and after a bit of a battle, they drew level after their 4th lay (the 5th runner) and so with level and only one potential lay left, we take the money with no room for error now.........They then started their 2nd strategy/target on the 6th runner and after a good start, they went to their 2nd lay to win the remainder (the 12th runner), but a poor result, and a no bet on the final runner, see them concede 0.2 of a target at the very worst......
'Bank building' strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 1st runner) at 2.4 max, but a poor result see them go behind early.........They then had their 2nd lay (the 2nd runner) at 2.5 max and a good result see them win a chunk back.........Then came their 3rd lay (the 3rd runner) at 1.8 max, but a poor result see them give a little more away.............They then had their 4th lay (the 5th runner) at 2.02 and a good result see them break level. 4 runner builders naturally finish here, and 5 runner builders do also with being level and only one potential lay left and no room at all for error. So levels for builders...
Bank builder 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
1st lay £100 to win as much of the £100 target @ 2.4 max. Result negative. Lose £100
Total bank now £300
2nd lay £100 to recoup as much of the £100 @ 2.5 max. Result positive. Win £66
Total bank now £366
3rd lay £183 to recoup the £34 @ 1.8 max. Result negative. Lose £27
Total bank now £339
4th lay £339 to recoup the £61 @ 2.02. Result positive. Win £61
Total bank now £400
Overall result. Level.
***************************************
Bank builder 5 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
1st lay £80 to win as much of the £100 target @ 2.4 max. Result negative. Lose £100
Total bank now £320
2nd lay £80 to recoup as much of the £80 @ 2.5 max. Result positive. Win £53
Total bank now £373
3rd lay £124 to recoup the £27 @ 1.8 max. Result negative. Lose £22
Total bank now £351
4th lay £175 to recoup the £49 @ 2.02. Result positive. Win £49
Total bank now £400
So with being level and only one potential lay left, it's always advised to take that and walk with now no room for error.
Overall result. Level
***************************************
'Traders' won or broke level on all their trades, so they played a blinder and well played guys..
So builders had a battle early, but dealt with it well enough to walk away levels, so well played/battled. Rollers had their own battles, and amongst the winners and the drifters, they ended around levels, so could've been better, but could've been much worse too, so they'll take that. Have a good evening and speak in the morning.
Marc.

All the races were priced up, with non runners taken into account, up until 10.05am.
That's our work for this afternoon then. A mixture of races and make ups, and although looking tricky, there's no reason why we shouldn't go into battle, so let's hope that the value wins the day as it certainly does over a period of time. Discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon.
