"Group" RESULTS - 'Evening Session' Monday 14 July Workings.
16 years 10 months ago
Evening.
This evening completed and went as follows:
The 1st runner we wanted 2.5 and with being around 2.62 on arrival and then dropping down to us, we had a lay at the rock bottom of the market and 2.5. The price then drifted out to our own price of 2.8 and beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result.....
The 2nd runner we wanted 2.5 and with drifting to around 2.98 on arrival and then crashing back down to us and beyond under very good support, we had a lay at 2.5 max. The lay went and won, so the late money spot on and the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.......
The 3rd runner we wanted 3.45 and with drifting to around 4.2 on arrival and only getting bigger, race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten after a battle, so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr. Early traders happy though.......
The 4th runner we wanted 3.3, but a non runner and 2.6% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.24. The price was around 2.98 and shortening on arrival, so we had a lay at 2.98 max. The lay went and won, so the way it goes. Traders got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it........
The 5th and final runner we wanted 3.3 and with drifting to around 3.45 on arrival and only getting bigger, race to racers had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr. Early traders happy though.......
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED...............(2 from the first 4 (50%) went and won, so never easy with only 5 to play with, but we did our best and well played/battled)
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Conceded 0.5 of a target..........They started their strategy/target on the 1st runner and although they got off to a good start, they then had a couple of bad result and ended the evening on their 3rd lay (the 4th runner) at 0.5 of a target down....
'Bank building' strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that bought a tiny profit, and that left 5 runner builders with only 4 potential lays left, so with not enough to start a strategy, they end it here, so they win a little 0.08 of a target, but get a early night!....
4 runner builders played on and had their 1st lay (the 2nd runner) at 2.5 max, but a poor result see them go behind early.......They then had their 2nd lay (the 4th runner) at 2.98, but a poor result see them go further adrift........That's where they ended and so concede 2 on the session...
Bank builder 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £10
Total bank now £410
1st lay £102.50 to win as much of the £90 needed @ 2.5 max. Result negative. Lose £102.50
Total bank now £307.50
2nd lay £102.50 to recoup as much of the £102.50 @ 2.98 max. Result negative. Lose £102.50
Total bank now £205
That's where they ended it.
Overall result. Concede 2 targets.

Bank builder 5 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £8
Total bank now £408
That's where they ended it with not enough potential lays left to start a strategy.
Overall result. Win 0.08 of a target.

'Traders' won, or broke level on all their trades, so they did well...
So a mixed bag, and never a surprise with so few to work with. 4 runner builders had to give a couple back this evening, but 5 runner builders walk away with a tiny profit, and rollers too, so not too bad with those winners and drifters. Speak in the morning..
Marc.

That's our work for this evening then. Not easy with the minimum amount, and never will be, but we have enough to warrant going into battle, so that's what we'll do. Good luck and speak soon.
