So who from PHUM&co are in Singapore

I see a poster at SP has got wind that the PHUM delegation we assume attending the up coming Singapore Jockey challenge in the recent week were\are being flown 1st class at a whopping ZAR 1 million combined cost......all this while they cut jobs at the Vaal course which has led to a major deterioration at the facility and then at more cost have to accommodate the racing program at Turffontein today....the financials must be way better than expected that they can afford to splurge before the release in the next weeks......but seriously where are the priorities......the high flying new CEO sure knows how to go around in style.....is the international arm of PHUM getting all the gravy while the local assets are left to die.....

.....Bob this we are aware of.....but if the allegation is that 1st Class travel is involved and if they have already left for the event which is only next week then an extended stay in Singapore is not cheap either
.....the event may be good for racing...... but when the costs are ballooned at the expense of shorting local racing facilities then that is pure piss poor management.....the writer in the SP a Cape Town trainer is quibbling about PHUM increasing costs for training facilities in Phillipi and not providing funds for repairing equipment.....do not care which corporation one works for but 1st Class travel is pure decadence especially when jobs have been lost and assets neglected.....boy they can sure eat cake...

I would not be surprised, but to be fair, has P commented on this extravagance ?

....not sure....but where there is smoke.....one is sure to find the mirrors....do hear that Duppie himself is said to be in the Travel agency business..... and much of PHUM travel goes through the company he is allegedly involved with.....Mrs Robinson an assistant to husband Mike seems to have some of the details but they are a little sketchy.....not sure that all are 1st class passengers and the rest of the contingent may be in other classes.....do know that the new PHUM head honcho is a frequent flyer and often is treated to 1st class travel.....

......when has PHUM ever tried to address anything coming from social platforms or even if printed in the press.....this is why some people are calling for full and comprehensive audits ....if these fat cats have stripped racing assets and left the rest in despair they must be made to pay for them at the cost of their shares.....

From Rob Scott

Hi Bob please respond to Muthiman with regard his and Miss Robinson’s comments on sporting post.
1. There is no longer a first class on most flights for the record however whatever the class it is an international event sponsored by Phumelela and PGI. And three members have attended. In truth international has been a great servant to racing in SA under John’s stewardship and this business unit should be applauded for its results over many years.
2. John the new CEO cancelled his trip to stay and get to grips with what is going and in fact paid a visit to the Vaal today to look at the track and see things for himself.
3. We don’t normally respond on social media as there will always be someone who has a different view and would do things differently however in this case I think a response is required.

....only reporting on what was said by Mrs Robinson at SP and thus asking questions for verification ....thanx Fat Boy Slim for your candid response.....not getting personal and no jealously here
.....it seems that OTA is on the button and PHUM are finally pulling finger..... hope that the new CEO now by showing leadership by example and sacrificing his presence in Singapore..... can begin to get racing back on a forward tack....:woohoo:

Don`t know of a company world wide that would have asked their executives to travel economy class.

Was it wine o`clock when the SP comment was made?

Talking about wine.. I smell sour grapes Muhitiman?

First impressions are very positive on the new appointment
