PHUMELELA MEDIA RELEASE

SUBJECT: Changes to the racing schedule

DATE: Saturday 13 October 2018

RELEASED BY: Phumelela Gaming

The World Sports Betting Grand Series Leg 1 and 2, as well as the Grand Series Consolation, will be run at Turffontein next Saturday, 20 October.

That was the word yesterday afternoon from Clyde Basel, Racing Executive of Phumelela Gaming and Leisure Ltd, shortly after the race meeting at Turffontein was abandoned after four races due to a severe electrical storm and persistent heavy downpours which continued throughout the afternoon.

The three Grand-races will be staged as carded and will form part of the meeting now scheduled for Saturday on the Turffontein Inside track.

Other changes to the racing schedule are:

1. The race meeting scheduled for Tuesday October 16 at Turffontein on the Turf Inside track will be moved to Thursday October 18 on the Turffontein Inside track.

2. A new race meeting will be staged on Tuesday October 16 on the Fairview Polytrack. Entries for this meeting will be sent out in due course.

3. The Work Riders Race Meeting scheduled for Thursday October 18 at Turffontein will be moved to the Vaal racecourse on Tuesday October 23 to be run prior to the scheduled Durbanville meeting. The Work Riders Race Meeting will be run from 12 noon and the Durbanville “twilight” meeting will commence at around 3pm.

“Unfortunately the weather is not something we can control,” said Basel when the new racing schedule was announced.

“But despite the gloomy weather, the sponsors of the Grand Series and Consolation, World Sports Betting, have remained upbeat and are committed to ensuring that the three races will be staged successfully.”

PHUMELELA MEDIA RELEASE
SUBJECT: Thanks to the PE trainers
DATE: Sunday 14 October2018
RELEASED BY: Phumelela Gaming

Clyde Basel, Racing Executive of Phumelela Gaming and Leisure Ltd, on Sunday afternoon lauded the trainers from Port Elizabeth for their overwhelming response to the unscheduled race meeting which will take place on Tuesday at Fairview.
“I am so impressed. The response from the trainers in Port Elizabeth has been absolutely phenomenal.
“In less than 24 hours they have enabled us to finalise the declarations for an unscheduled meeting,” Basel said.
“With their response, they have shown that the racing industry can indeed stand together in a time of need. The PE trainers have come to the party when we needed them most and for that, we have to say thank you. The National Racing Bureau got their team together in a matter of hours to pull this together.”
Mark Kinsman, Betting Editor of Phumelela Publishing, on Sunday confirmed that ComputaForm, the official racecard for the Fairview meeting, will be available for free online from Monday morning. One just needs to register on www.computaform.co.za to access the PDF and download.
The ComputaForm books will also be distributed to Gauteng TAB/Betting World outlets as well as the Fairview racecourse, and will be complimentary on a first come first basis while stocks last.

In chaos theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state.

so not looking after a few blades of grass initially has led to a huge pain down the road.

i hope is pees over the week end and forces them to do more back flips/cartwheels/twister moves to get out of jail.
