Afternoon.

This afternoon completed and went as follows:

The 1st runner we wanted 3.0 and with being around 3.15 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 3.0 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.3 and beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result......

The 2nd runner we wanted 2.9, and with being a well supported 2.5, and shortening, on arrival, we had a lay at 2.5 max. The lay went and won, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it...

The 3rd runner we wanted 2.0, and with drifting to around 2.1 on arrival and then dropping back down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.0 max. The lay was beaten after a battle, so a good result........

The 4th runner we wanted 2.8 and with drifting to around 2.98 on arrival and then dropping back down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.8 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result.......

The 5th runner we wanted 3.2, and with being around 3.55 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 3.2 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.5 and slightly beyond, before coming back in again, so a fluctuating market and a chance for traders and remaining builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result..........

The 6th runner we wanted 1.6 and with being around 1.66 on arrival and then dropping down to us, we had a lay at the rock bottom of the market and 1.6. The lay went and won well, so the way it goes.........

The 7th runner we wanted 1.8, and with being around 1.7 and shortening on arrival, we had a lay at 1.7 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result.........

The 8th runner we wanted 1.7, and with drifting to around 1.8 on arrival and then dropping back down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 1.7 max. The lay went and won a close battle, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.......

The 9th runner we wanted 3.2, and with drifting to around 3.25 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 3.2 max. The lay went and won, so the way it goes. Traders got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it...........

The 10th runner we wanted 2.8, but a non runner and 5.1% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.71 (2.7 nearest exchange price). The price had drifted to around 3.8 on arrival and never came back down to us, so a race to avoid. The runner was beaten and so 'one that got away in hindsight'..........

The 11th runner we wanted 3.5, and with being 3.45 and slightly shorter on arrival, we had a lay at 3.45 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result.......

The 12th runner we wanted 2.2, and with drifting to around 2.36 on arrival and then dropping back down to us, we had a lay at 2.2. The lay looked beat a couple of time, but dug in to get the win, so frustrating, but the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.....

The 13th and final runner we wanted 2.32, and with being around 2.7 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was out the race mid-way, so the drift justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'......

WELL PLAYED/BATTLED.................(2 from the first 6 (33.33%) went and won - 4 from the first 9 (44.44%) - and 5 from the 13 (38.5%) in total - So mix that with several drifters and it was a tough and testing session which we dealt with pretty well)

'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) had to concede 0.4 of a target at worst.......They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and after a bit of a battle, they hit their targets on their 4th lay (the 4th runner)..........They then started their 2nd strategy/target on the 5th runner, and then hit their targets on their 3rd lay (the 7th runner)........Then they started their 3rd strategy/target on the 8th runner, but after a big battle they ended up conceding 2.4 targets after their 4th and final lay, so end the session conceding 0.4 of a target at the very worst........

'Bank building' strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that bought a tiny profit.........They then had their 1st lay (the 2nd runner) at 2.5 max, but a poor result see them go behind........They then has their 2nd lay (the 3rd runner) at 2.0 max, and a good result see them back levels........They then had their 3rd lay (the 4th runner) at 2.8 max, and a good result see 4 runner builders hit their targets..

5 runner builders needed a little more, and had a 'free' lay (the 5th runner) that bought a tiny profit...........They then had their 4th lay (the 6th runner) at 1.6, but a poor result see them give a little back......Then came their 5th and final lay (the 7th runner) at 1.7, and a good result see them hit their targets...

'Traders' had to concede a little on the 6th runner at 1.6, but all others see them win a bit, or break level, so they did a good job and well played guys..

So builders got their money and that's all that counts, so well played. Rollers stormed into a 2 target lead, but then had an almighty battle on their 3rd which see them end the session conceding 0.4 of a target, so frustrating, but that's the game and with plenty of winners and drifters it was good to get into such a good position before that battle, so well played/battled. I'm off out this evening, so good luck if you play (looks a tough one) and speak in the morning...

That's our work for this afternoon then. Again a mixture of races and make ups, and again looking tricky and testing, but we have enough about us to warrant going into battle, so with discipline to the maximum and taking advantage of any prices that come our way, we'll hope that value wins the day as it certainly does over a period of time. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings.
