Race 3: Number 1 BelievethisBeauty Win
This horse has some very strong maiden form from Cape Town.....in fact it's hard to believe that it hasn't won already.
Its form is best over 1400m-1600m as opposed to the sprints. Given the favorable draw today and the very moderate field. This horse should win by a few lengths.
Hewitson wont miss today on this plum.

RACE 1 :
1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :
10 / 9 / 8 / 1
GAVIN SMITH
Numbers 1, 8 and 10 - COUNTESS CANTABRIA, HALLO ROSIE & ARIKARA :
Countess Cantabria and Hallo Rosie are always thereabouts and has a
place chance. Arikara will enjoy the touch extra.
VAUGHAN MARSHALL (comments prior to travel) Number 9 - SEKUSHI GIRL :
We do feel she’ll take well to the Poly and a decent run is expected.
RACE 2 :
1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :
1 / 2 / 4 / 7
GAVIN SMITH
Numbers 1, 5 and 7 - SAMURAI DRAGON, NOBLE LEADER & MASTER NEWTON :
Samurai Dragon ran a good race on Friday and can follow up. Noble
Leader is having his first run back from the gelding and could just
need it. Master Newton is improving.
GEORGE UREN
Number 2 - THE DONEGAL MAN : He ran a great race last time out and was
finishing strongly so he will appreciate being up to the 1400m. He
should be right there again.
RACE 3 :
1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :
1 / 7 / 12 / 8
SHARON KOTZEN
Numbers 7 and 12 - BEAUTIFUL BEAT & ROCK STARDMOM : Beautiful Beat has
her peak run, racing over the mile should see her well suited and
having her first run on the surface, if she takes to it, she should
run well. Rock Stardom is better than her last. She is all legs and
still maturing but a better run is expected.
GAVIN SMITH
Numbers 8, 9 and 10 - PETIPA, WAIT A SEC & BELLE HILL : Petipa has her
first run back from a suspension and could just need it. Wait a Sec is
working well and can place. Belle Hill is well drawn, enjoys the trip
and can place.
RACE 4 :
1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :
6 / 7 / 3 / 9
JACQUES STRYDOM
Numbers 3 and 12 - MAHIR & OMAHA TRIBE : Mahir is in solid form and
another good run is expected. Omaha Tribe ran a great race in his
last, he does have the draw against him, but with luck in the running
he can earn again.
GRANT PADDOCK
Numbers 6 and 8 - STRONG ‘N BRAVE & REBEL BARON : Both geldings line
up in a very competitive event, but have each way claims.
RACE 5 :
1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :
4 / 5 / 2 / 7
ALAN GREEFF
Numbers 2 and 5 - STOPTHINKINGOFME & SEATTLE OAK : Stopthinkingofme is
always thereabouts and should be in the mix again. Seattle Oak won
well in her last, has a light weight and can be there again.
VAUGHAN MARSHALL (comments prior to travel) Number 4 - MAGIC SAILOR :
He is very well and appreciates the Poly.
RACE 6 :
1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :
2 / 8 / 1 / 3
TARA LAING
Number 1 - TWICE A POET : He is definitely in with a shout.
GRANT PADDOCK
Number 2 - BAKKIES : He put up a very nice post maiden run in his last
in a graduation plate. Back to handicap company, he is working well
and has an each way shout.
RACE 7 :
1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :
6 / 2 / 4 / 1
GAVIN SMITH
Numbers 2 and 8 - DAWNBREAKER & STORY OF MY LIFE : Dawnbreaker is
consistent and loves track and trip. Story of my Life tries hard and
has a place chance.
VAUGHAN MARSHALL (comments prior to travel) Number 6 - ZEB : He will
be competitive here.
RACE 8 :
1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :
5 / 8 / 2 / 1
ALAN GREEFF
Numbers 1, 4, 5 and 6 - THERMOCLINE, NICOLE, KEEP THE FAITH &
FAIRYINTHEMIST : Thermocline has top weight, but is drawn in gate one
and running in solid form, she definitely has claims. Nicole can
hopefully improve. Keep the Faith is knocking very hard.
Fairyinthemist is better than her last, prefers Poly and back on the
Poly, should run an improved race.
GAVIN SMITH
Numbers 7 and 8 - DUBAI QUEEN & FANFARE : Dubai Queen has her first
start on Poly, she should enjoy the surface. Fanfare ran a good race
in her last and should be right there.
1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :
10 / 9 / 8 / 1

Assuming she handles the poly, expect a good run from Beautiful Beat. Favourite has fair form and has the age advantage, but used to fade late in CT so we can give her a go
