"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon Session' Monday 21 July Workings.
16 years 10 months ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon completed, and went as follows:
The 1st runner we wanted 3.2, and with being around 3.35 on arrival and then dropping down to us, we had a lay at 3.2. The lay looked in trouble for most of the race, but kept going and going to get the win, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it...
The 2nd runner we wanted 3.2, and with drifting to around 3.25 on arrival and then dropping back down to us, we had a lay at 3.2 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.5 and beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was nicely beaten and so a good result..........
The 3rd runner was a non runner, so on to the next.....
The 4th runner we wanted 3.1, and with being around 3.05 on arrival, we had a lay at 3.05. The lay dropped away as if shot, so hope he's ok, but a good result financially........
The 5th runner we wanted 2.7, and with being around 3.2 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all, it was a race to avoid for all. The runner ran a poor race and was easily beaten, so the drift justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'........
The 6th and final runner we wanted 2.7, and with being around 3.5 on arrival and not dropping down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so 'one that got away in hindsight'..........
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED..........
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) finished level...........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and after a poor start they then broke level after their 3rd lay (the 4th runner), and so with being levels and only one potential lay left, they have no room at all for error now, so end the session levels....
'Bank building' strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 1st runner) at 3.2, but a poor result see them go behind early.........They then had a 'free' lay (the 2nd runner) that bought a tiny profit.........Then came their 2nd lay (the 4th runner) at 3.05, and a good result see them win a chunk back.......That's where they ended up and so they concede between 0.3 - 0.4 of a target.....
Bank builder 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
1st lay £100 to win as much of the £100 target @ 3.2. Result negative. Lose £100
Total bank now £300

Total bank now £310
2nd lay £103 to recoup as much of the £90 @ 3.05. Result positive. Win £50
Total bank now £360
That's where they ended it.
Overall result. Concede 0.4 of a target.

'Traders' won, or broke level on all their trades and so well played guys, and good luck for this evening as you're the only ones playing..
So a funny session really, as it started off on the wrong foot, and then with those annoying drifters coming far too frequently, bank builders had to suffer a tiny loss. No real damage though, so it happens and they have the evening off to chill out. Speak in the morning guys.
Marc.

All the races were priced up, with non runners taken into account, up until 10.03am.
That's our work for this afternoon then. Not much to work around, but enough, so with that and with having enough within our armoury to warrant going into battle, we'll have a go. Discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings.
