.....well if they are all like that then we are truly f@cked.....during load shedding in December last year
had no home Wi Fi so had to audio stream TT through mobile devices.....in 2 hours I went through 250MB from Vodacom.....then switched to my wife's MTN contract and in 2hrs only consumed 20MB
.....next day when power was on went to a local Vodashop and bought R249 airtime top up and converted R79 into 1week data package and through summer special they sent me additional 1GB....
so I'm sorted for data no matter how fast Vodacom is going to chew it.....then every day R5 goes off my remaining airtime balance until I'm left with R4-40.....:S

This is Africa - streaming in my experience not the answer (yet) - many interruptions, costly - but that's just me - ideally (and I know it's been beaten to death) for me I'd like a channel on DSTV that shows local racing only - NO TROTS  - let those that want to indulge get a router and stream ....

.........Bob it is not so easy here as Frodo says and even DSTV has gone the streaming route although the Dora Explora seems to buffer and hang more than the HD smart TV and 4K TV box.....to add to this DSTV apps are not available to 4K boxes because they only have HD capability while 4K is UHD.....my recent migration was ditching a rather power hungry very large plasma for a hardly used 2nd hand HD Smart TV.....after all I too was married to DSTV and UHD was no option and imo a waste.....Netflix offers reduced sub rate for HD and premium on UHD......if you want to stream UHD you need a better than average network speed which almost doubles in cost and even that is throttled depending on traffic.....on the 4K TV boxes that offer pre-loaded Netflix and even DSTV.....be careful as these are not the latest apps for UHD and are made for HD and up-scaled 4K.....another way of streaming is to go via 4K Blu ray players and latest X-box loaded with UHD Netflix Amazon etc....but have to pay a lot extra for 15-20bps streaming....
