Turffontein Saturday

So far been through two races but there has been some scratching in the race where i made Being Fabulous a bet
Taken that win onto the Chesney runner Confessional R5 to run a place
R2 Arguably your biggest bipot hurdle as there are plenty with chances, add these to your fancies
Tintagel/Undiscovered Gem/Riboux En Var/Winter Twilight/Tommy Tiger/Setablaze and Winter Twilight

Kir in the 9th race is good value at the current odds, 11/2.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

In Race 1, RING OF FIRE must be the value play at 4-1.
This was said to be a bomb the last time it ran!

Well if you can believe the Weatherman, we are set for a full day's racing :woohoo:
Not sure if the Tarry runners did enough during the few races we had during the week, to convince me that their 'blip' last Sunday was 'just one of those days', so I'm treading carefully today ....
R1: Obviously some guess work involved, but there seems to be some money around for the Spies trained Captain Morgane - so possibly worth including with the favorite in exactas
R2: Not a lot of form to go around - looking at the betting, the main 3 seems to be Summer House (inside draw
), first timer Sacred Castle and the Lerena ride Undiscovered Gem - in wider BP's I am including Tommy Tiger and Tintagel (good penultimate runs here)
R3: Gold Lightning the obvious one - did not seem to find a whole lot more over 1400, so beatable imo; Noble Princess does come into it getting the sex allowance and a good draw; Knight Owl pole position and Gavin's choice, so should improve to threaten while Jungle Book and Three Dog Night are being supported in the market, so have to be considered in an open looking field
R4: Closely matched F&M Handicap; only Artemesia looks out of it on current form; if I had to pick 3 to definitely include, I'd go Tamarina, Being Fabulous and Desert Rhythm
R5: I think Approach Control will take a lot of beating here; main danger imo Zilzaal, who beat a weakish looking maiden field as he liked, so should have scope for lots of improvement; still think Hero's Honour has a lot to do at the weights even if does not seem to be the case on official ratings; the others much of a muchness imo, and any of the Niewenhuizen runners can pop up in the quartet to make it pay
R6: I think the Dawson stable could register a double here with D' Arrivee - better over 1400 imo; The Rocketman may prove the main danger from pole position - stable seems confident; again for me not a lot between the others, so if those two are not your fancies, you need to go wide
R7: Should lie between Mighty High and All at Once, I'd lean towards MH on the assumption that she may improve more from their last meeting, but it should be a close run thing; Firdoas a bit of a dark horse over this trip, as is Mazari, but both of those boast some pretty useful form against strong competition, so could upset
R8: The race that will make or break the exotics imo; Oravar the obvious one, but for me he is taking on a lot stronger - any of Donny G, Great Shaka, Pillaroftheearth or Purple Diamond capable of running him down
R9: Princess Lomita good debut and rates the one to beat - not an ideal draw however, which may give Kir a chance to give her a real go - I'm taking a chance with those 2 in the P6
Enjoy
