Kenilworth Saturday

Fancy the treble :-
R2) Santa Clara X (R4) Hurricane Silva X (R8) Mushi Sterek
R2) Santa Clara X (R4) Hurricane Silva X (R8) Mushi Sterek
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

We had some nice rain last night which should take a little bit of the sting out the ground, but expect course to still be good. Possible light tail wind later on.
Race 1: No selection
Race 2: Santa Clara is a decent 3yo and ran up to her 97 rating in the Guineas. She needs to improve a bit to win this and I certainly won’t be taking odds on. ( Helen’s Ideal ran just behind her in the Guineas and was allowed to start at 10/1 against similar opposition last week, but running off a 91, so 3kg to the good!) The Kotzen 2 must be respected.
Race 3: Captain Carlos the best of the raced runners, but money has come for Miraculously Ours. There are a couple of lightly raced runners that could show big improvement, but these 2 enough for PA.
Race 4: Hurricane Silva much improved last time and a repeat of that run will win. Possible banker. Louisa May is coming along the right way and is the danger. Petite Bijou should improve this trip.
Race 5: Dubula faded tamely last time but had fair earlier form. Amazing Satchmo good debut, running on from the back. Var Express also good debut and will improve.
Race 6: Secret Depths is overdue her second win, and I hope that she can pull it off today. Nastergal is a decent sort and will challenge. Fortune Flies is running off a rating that looks too low and the 3kg she gets from these two make her competitive. Perfect Air I think the best of the older fillies and only half a length to find on Nastergal on their last meeting.
Race 7: Hoping for a double with Elusive Victor, but unfortunately gets a tough draw. Won a good race last time, and not overly punished by the handicapper. St Vladimir also on the upgrade, and has a much better draw. Spirit Of Song also nice draw and should continue to improve. I will side with the 3yos but 3,9,10 all hard knocking older horses. Harvest Wind has been very disappointing- now off a very low rating. If he does not improve here then must go to a weaker centre.
Race 8: Mushi Sterek very impressive debut and should win again. Snapscan looks a smart sort and is ew value. Gimme London also plenty scope for improvement.
Race 9: Very open handicap. Shortlist 1,4,5,6,8,11,14

Cape trainers don't seem to be the best judges with their babies.
Odds on shots beaten plenty times and less fancied stable companions coming out and winning.
