"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon Session' Wednesday 23 July Workings.
16 years 10 months ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon's session completed then, and went as follows:
The 1st runner we wanted 3.2, and with being around 3.3 on arrival, getting bigger, and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond under good late support, we had a lay at 3.2 max. The lay went and won, so the late money correct and the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.......
The 2nd runner we wanted 3.2, and with being a well supported 2.56 on arrival, we had a lay at 2.56. The lay was beaten and so a good result.......
The 3rd runner we wanted 1.46, and with being a well supported 1.3 and shortening on arrival, we had a lay at 1.3 max. The lay went and won, so the way it goes.....
The 4th runner we wanted 2.2, but a non runner and 3.3% reduction we now wanted a lay price of 2.16. The price was a well supported 1.79 on arrival and so we had a lay at 1.79. The lay was beaten and so a good result.....
The 5th runner we wanted 3.5, and with drifting to around 4.7 on arrival and only getting slightly bigger, race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner went and won, so glad of the drift now, a nice priced winner, and more importantly a good leave...
The 6th runner we wanted 2.7, and with being around 3.35 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won, so a good leave......
The 7th runner we wanted 2.1, and with being around 2.66 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage, so all had to avoid the runner was beaten and so 'one that got away in hindsight'.......
The 8th runner we wanted 2.32, and with being a very well supported 1.82 and shortening on arrival, we had a lay at 1.82 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result.......
The 9th runner we wanted 2.6, but a non runner and 5.6% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.51 (2.5 nearest exchange price). The price was around 2.6 on arrival and only got bigger, so with never seeing our lay price at any stage at all, it was a race to avoid for all. The runner came in 2nd after a very tight finish, so heart attack saved, but 'one that got away in hindsight'......
The 10th and final runner we wanted 3.2, and with being around 5.3 on arrival and only getting bigger and bigger as if a leg had fallen off, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so the drift justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'.....
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED...............(2 from the first 3 (66.66%) went and won - 4 from the first 6 (66.66%) went and won - So a very tough start and middle to the session, but we all played it well and either walked away levels, or got the money)
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) ended level............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and after a poor start, they then went and broke level after their 4th lay (the 4th runner) and so with being levels and now no room for error, they end it here.............They then found themselves running out of enough potential lays left to start a strategy/target and so end the session level.....
'Bank builder' strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that bought only relief..........They then had their 1st lay (the 2nd runner) at 2.56, and a good result see them win a chunk of their targets.........They then had their 2nd lay (the 3rd runner) at 1.3, but a poor result see them give a little back...........Then came their 3rd lay (the 4th runner) at 1.79, and a good result see them hit their targets....
Bank builder 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

'Traders' had to concede a little on the 3rd runner at 1.3 max, but all others see them win a bit or break level, so they walk away with a little profit and that's good with a tough start today, so well played...
So builders play a blinder early to get the money, and although rollers had to settle for taking levels, they'll settle for that as they look ahead for this evening. Speak soon with this evening's workings..
Marc.

That's our work for this afternoon then. Again it's looking a tough and testing session in store with that unexposed nature to the fore, plus the very unpredictable Sir Mark Prescott looking a potential thorn in our sides, but we do have enough about us to go into battle with, so that's what we'll do. Discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings.
