Super mare Winx furthered her losing sequence in Rosehill trials to an even dozen when the world’s most popular racehorse coasted into seventh place in Sydney on Tuesday morning.

A field of seven is set to line up in the $600,000 Group I Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on Saturday where superstar galloper Winx will attempt to set a new international benchmark.

The glamour girl of the Australian racing scene will attempt to become the first horse in racing history to win 23 Group I races, eclipsing the mark of 22 she currently shares with former champion Irish hurdler Hurricane Fly.

Winx’s Group I-winning record is already clearly superior to any other horse in flat racing having won at the elite level six times more than American champion John Henry with 16 wins, and Black Caviar on 15.
