SunMet Buy In Competition - Rules
6 years 4 months ago
I have been getting a lot of questions abut how this competition works, so I have decided to open this thread early. Hopefully that way we will also encourage a few more entrants.
The action takes place on the Kenilworth Race meeting on 26 January 2019.
R100 Buy In.
Select ONE horse for each race .
A fictitious R100 win and R100 place is then bet ON THE TOTE on your selection
At the end of the day the entrant with the biggest balance takes 80% of the pool and the runner up gets 20% NOTE: If the pool is in excess of R6000 then the winner gets 70%, runner up 20% and third gets 10%
Entries close at the carded off time of the first race of the day and the timestamp on ABC forum will be used as the official cut off time (If race is carded to run at 11h55 and you post your selections at 11h57 .... YOU ARE NOT IN THE COMPETITION, even if the race jumped late.
Guys and Gals this is fundamental and not negotiable !!! Get your selections in early.
You may edit your entry up to the time of the first race carded time.
The Sunmet selection gets a DOUBLE amount wagered (ie: R200 wins and R200 places). You also get to decide ONE of your other selections for a DOUBLE BET but not on your Sunmet selection
Horses scratched during the day (ie: AFTER start of racing) will see a refund to your balance
Selecting a horse which is scratched prior to the start of racing...well, that is just plain stewpid and careless so you have done your tom !!
R50 Competition on the feature race the Sunmet itself..
Spend R300 in any which way you wish on a TOTE bet ONLY involving the one race (so no Pick 3's or Doubles) and the highest return sweeps the pool !!!
Just specify clearly below the main competition selections you bet type and numbers as well as 'banker' by ... or 'all boxed' etc.
Please specify your intention to enter here on this thread as soon as possible so I can start building the excel spreadsheet as I will be out on Met Day.... bloody bowls interfering with my betting.

Magi, this is also a fictitious bet, we just need to pay the extra R 50.00 and then advise you what the R 300.00 bet is - is this correct?
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.
