As far as scratchings will be interesting to see how bookmakers make the percentage deduction on a fixed odds bet?

A R1.10 max win bet on a red-hot favorite will be diluted even more by other runners included in the red pot. Or, the algorithm knows this and caters for an approximate percentage distribution to colors black and green. For example: 60% covered by only one horse in red and then 20% each for the other color groups of say four and seven horses respectively.
Great and simple if you want to brass the hot favorite.
I like it for the beginner punter.

Think the bookies already do odds and evens?

Did the bookies cut their losses with pricing up on the three colours?

A R4000 pool says it all. Once off partygoers at social gatherings at a racecourse and who are too lazy to pick up a form guide may be interested in this nonsense. Seasoned racegoers are definitely not.

Well done to Phumelela for introducing something new. I don't think that this bet will do much to attract new long term customers but it will make the race day experience a lot more enjoyable for anyone not familiar with racing. Hope that I am wrong and that creating more winners or at least an easier betting experience on these occasions will have a positive spin off for racing over time.
