TRAINER’S / JOCKEY’S COMMENTS AND FIRST FOUR SELECTIONS :
RACE 1 :
1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :
1 / 5 / 3 / 4
ALAN GREEFF Numbers 1, 2, 4 and 8 - ADALGISO, ANDREA, FOREIGN
SOURCE & LACE : Adalgiso is capable of better than what he produced
last time out. Andrea, Foreign Source and Lace have their first runs.
GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 3, 5 and 7 - BOLD STRIKE, HOOVES OF TROY & SIR
CALEB : Bold Strike ran well on debut and has come on. Hooves of Troy
and Sir Caleb have their first runs and if not green they can earn.
SHARON KOTZEN - Number 6 - MARCELLIN : He hasn’t been pushed back
home but could earn if not too green.
RACE 2 :
1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :
1 / 4 / 2 / 6
ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 1 and 4 - GREEN LANTERN & DAMARALAND : Green
Lantern is in good form and can be there again. Damaraland is
consistent and in with a shout.
GRANT PADDOCK - Numbers 2 and 3 - LORD MARSHAL & PROSPECT STRIKE :
Lord Marshal is course and distance suited, he is in form and working
well and has a place chance. Prospect Strike ran a fair race on
Wednesday can could place again.
RACE 3 :
1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :
1 / 2 / 3 / 11
ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 1 and 2 - ETERNAL LIGHT & ANGKOR : Angkor is
in good form and has an each way chance. Eternal Night has her first
run for the yard and she relocates with fair Cape Form.
SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 11 and 12 - KATASHA & SEATTLE BERRY :
Katasha has been improving with each run and further improvement is
expected up to 1400m, which we do think she’ll enjoy. Seattle Berry is
also trying the 1400m, it is still short for her, but she needs the
experience around the bend and it will bring her on.
RACE 4 :
1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :
1 / 2 / 7 / 9
GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 1 and 2 - HARINGTON PORT & CONQUERING KING :
Harington Port has obvious claims on his solid form. Conquering King
is always thereabouts and has a place chance.
SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 6 and 7 - MYSTIC JOURNEY & DETTIE : Mystic
Journey has her first run for the yard, it is a learning curve but her
work does suggest that a bit of distance is what she is after. Dettie
was very disappointing last time out, but she had excuses. We are
hoping she relaxes as she can get worked up and runs on well.
RACE 5 :
1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :
5 / 3 / 9 / 2
ALAN GREEFF - Number 2 - KAZURI : She ran a good post maiden race
and can place again.
SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 3, 7 and 9 - ANGEL OF ATHENS, STAR EVOLUTION
& MARGOT FONTEYN : Angel of Athens loves the long straight and though
this could be a touch short she’s in with a shout. Star Evolution ran
very well on local debut on the Poly. She does have fair turf form so
the change of surface is not a concern. Margot Fonteyn is working very
well. Good runs are expected from all three.
RACE 6 :
1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :
1 / 2 / 3 / 5
TARA LAING - Number 2 - ALAMITO BAY : He must have decent chance on
his good recent form.
GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 4 and 5 - SUPER SOCKS & BORN A BULLY : Super
Socks could need the run back after the gelding, but it is a small
field and a place is not beyond him. Born a Bully is better than his
last and can also earn.
RACE 7 :
1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :
9 / 1 / 10 / 3
TARA LAING - Numbers 1, 2, 5, 7 and 9 - EXELERO, OMEGA ONSLAUGHT,
STARFLASH, CAPTAIN ALFREDO & AFRICAN VICTORY : Exelero gives a lot of
weight away all around but he is not without chance. Omega Onslaught
was disappointing last time out but he can run into quartets.
Starflash would be better over 1000m. Captain Alfredo was very
disappointing last time and we are hoping for improvement. African
Vicory is a big runner.
GAVIN SMITH - Number 10 - AMAZON KING : He is well in at the weights
and holding form well, he should be thereabouts again.
RACE 8 :
1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :
8 / 2 / 5 / 4
ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 2 and 7 - MAKE IT RAINE & STOPTHINKINGOFME :
Make it Raine races off consistent form, she may prefer 1000m, but is
not without chance. Stopthinkingofme runs on Wednesday.
JACQUES STRYDOM - Number 8 - TRAVEL IN STYLE : She bumps a
competitive field but will appreciate being back to a sprinting trip
and lightly weighted will run a better race.
RACE 9 :
1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :
9 / 14 / 4 / 15
GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 1, 11, 14 and 17 - JOKING, TRIP TO IBIZA,
LALENA & CASSINI : Joking is down in the ratings and down in class and
can run well. Trip to Ibiza will be helped by having the claimer up
and the weight off. Lalena ran a good race on local debut, include her
in exotics. Cassini has a low weight and ran well in her last, she is
a quartet runner.
DUNCAN MCKENZIE - Numbers 9 and 15 - AFLEET FLYER & BUSHY PARK :
Afleet Flyer has her post maiden run so she in up in class, but she is
working well. Bushy Park is trying hard and holding form well.
RACE 1 :
1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :
1 / 5 / 3 / 4

I fancy a double:
R6: LE GRANDE ROUGE (lost the race at the start last time and is down in class)
R8: WESTON (has come on nicely since the move to PE)

Two horses in the betting the rest double figures.
Neither get placed but we can expect that from Alan'the punters pal' Greeff.
