I see that there is no racing in Cape Town for today and nothing until next week
What is the reason as this must impact on a lot of owners
Any specific reason

I'm not sure what the reason is, but I remember Richard Fourie saying in an interview that after the Cape season that they would only be racing 4 times a month and for that reason he would be traveling for rides.

Just looking through the trainer stats Dean Kannemeyer has had 16 winners this season.. But i was shocked to see only 2 in the WC from 88 runners (2.3%)

Dean has had a terrible Cape summer season, haven't seen his stats so bad in my time of racing.

Hope he can turn the tide around, maybe bring some horses up to JHB for the next couple of months.

I commented on this the other day and I just don't understand the situation.
During the"Season"the attendance at the feature racedays were noticeably down and this has been a feature for some years.
Kenilworth and Durbanville must carry a large Overhead which has to be found every month.
In two months time the Winter weather usuallyl starts to kick in and by August the tracks with the exception of the new AW start to get unraceable.
Racing twice a week has recently attracted small fields and yet the larger Yards are raiding PE and Joburg and also have satellite yards in Durban.
For the small owner/trainer it must be extremely difficult.
