"Group" RESULTS - 'Evening Session' Thursday 24 July Workings.

Evening.
This evening completed and went as follows:
The 1st runner we wanted 1.6, and with being around 1.75 on arrival and then dropping down to us, we had a lay at the rock bottom of the market and 1.6. The price then drifted back out to our own price of 1.8 and slightly higher, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade went and won well, so they way it goes. Glad of the 'free' lay now though........
The 2nd runner we wanted 1.6, and with being around 1.81 on arrival and then a non runner and 7.2% reduction, we now wanted a lay price of 1.56. The price was still high and never came down to us at any stage, so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won, so a good leave........
The 3rd runner we wanted 3.5, and with drifting to around 4.5 on arrival and not coming back down to us, race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr. Early traders happy though.......
The 4th runner we wanted 3.3, and with being around 3.35 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 3.3 max. The lay won a dour battle to the line, so frustrating, but the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it........
The 5th runner we wanted 2.1, and with being around 2.54 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten, so 'one that got away in hindsight'........
The 6th runner we wanted 2.0, and with drifting to around 2.12 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.0 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result.......
The 7th and final runner we wanted 2.7, and with drifting to around 2.74 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond under good support, we had a lay at 2.7 max. The price then took a turn in the opposite direction and drifted out to our own price of 3.0 and beyond, so a chance for traders (builders finished) to have a 'free' lay before the race. The lay/trade went and won, so the way it goes. Glad of the free lay now though......
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED..................(2 from the first 2 (100%) went and won - 3 from the first 4 (75%) went and won - and 4 from the 7 (57%) in total, so yet another tough session with far too many winners, but we played it as solid as we could and did a good enough job)
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) had to concede 0.8 of a target...........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner and after a big battle they went to their 5th and final lay (the 7th runner) to recoup a tiny amount, but yet another winner see them concede 0.8 of a target on the session...
'Bank builder' strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that only bought relief..........5 runner builders then ran out of enough potential lays left to start, so they end at levels.....
4 runner builders played on and had their 1st lay (the 4th runner) at 3.3 max, but a poor result see them go behind........They then had their 2nd lay (the 6th runner) at 2.0 max, and a good result see them break level, and with being level and only one potential lay left, it's always advised to stop here with no room for error. So they finish level...
Bank builder 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
'Free' lay bought no free profit, only relief.
Total bank remains £400
1st lay £100 to win as much of the £100 target @ 3.3 max. Result negative. Lose £100
Total bank now £300
2nd lay £100 to recoup the £100 @ 2.0 max. Result positive. Win £100
Total bank now £400
That's where they finished with only one potential lay left and no room at all for error.
Overall result. Level.

'Traders' either won, or broke level on all their trades, so well played guys..
So builders finish level, and they'll accept that with yet another ultra tough start to a session. Well played. Rollers had a big battle and conceded a tiny amount, so an ultra tough day, but well battled and although these days do happen, let's hope tomorrow is a bit more nice to us!!. Speak in the morning..
Marc.
