Race 1
Ashley Fortune
No 9 Miss Samurai - We are hoping for an improved run but she does not
have the best of draws to deal with
Geoff Woodruff
No 5 Perfect Storm - Is showing good work at home and is not without a chance

Race 2
Steven Moffatt
No 10 One Dollar Massage - Her last run in wet conditions was well
below her ability. She should run an improved race.

Race 3
Fabian Habib
No 3 Waqaas - His last run is best ignored. He could run into the placings
Dennis Cason
No 7 Brookie - He seems to be well in on the merit ratings but does
have a preference for the sand track.
Tyrone Zackey
No 12 Gentleman Only - Should be included in the quartet

Race 4
Mike Azzie
No 5 The Rocketman - Shows good work at home but has been
disappointing in the race. Hoping he can bounce back to his best form
Matthew De Kock
No 1 The Dazzler - Is fit and well and has a strong each way chance

Race 5
Sean Tarry
No 6 Big Myth - Might need the run
Steven Moffatt
No 9 Beautiful Shay - Is a very consistent mare and from a nice draw,
she should once again run a good race.
Tyrone Zackey
No 15 Walnut Dash - Hoping to get some stake money

Race 6
Gary Alexander
No 3 Brand New Cadillac - May just need the run, place chance
Paul Peter
No 4 King Of Blues - Coming off a long break and may need the run
Tyrone Zackey
No 12 Gonnafly - Should be included in quartets

Race 7
Mike Azzie
No 5 Lady Negra - Is a filly not without her fair share of problems.
On her day if all goes well, she does have the ability to surprise.
Matthew De Kock
No 9 Poormanslady - Hoping for the best
Ashley Fortune
No 3 Rings And Things - Has come down in the merit ratings but will
need some luck in running from a deep draw.
Tyrone Zackey
No 10 Tricia - Has a bad draw. Hoping to get into the placings

Race 8
Matthew De Kock
No 10 Jailhouse Jazz - Drops down to the minimum distance and if she
does enjoy the shorter distance, she is one to include.
Dennis Cason
No 7 Modjadji - Is fit and well and always tries her best. If the
track is not too wet, she should run a good race.

Race 9
Barend Botes
No 13 Fly North - Seldom finished far off them and she should again be
right there in the finish.
Fabian Habib
No 5 Countess Var - has been working well with the blinkers. Place chance

Race 10

Barend Botes
No 1 Swell Time - Has finished close up in her last two runs and she
should give a good account of herself.
Steven Moffatt
No 13 Red Orbit - Has been disappointing and i'm just hoping for a better run from her

They are keeping the possibility of switching to turffontein, but plenty rain their as well

Please note that there has been heavy rains overnight at Vaal and Turffontein, and there is the forecast of more rain throughout today. Tracks will be inspected at 08h00am and an update will be provided shortly.

Oscar, I agree with you, pouring at the moment and more predicted.

It's a pity I made your Minona a massive runner in the opener.

Please note that following heavy rain over the last 24 hours and a track inspection this morning, today's race meeting at the Vaal dated Tuesday 12 February 2019, has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track. Turffontein was also inspected as an alternative option, but there was overnight rain at Turffontein as well, and it is currently raining now and the forecast is for more rain throughout the day, which has ruled that option out.
