MIKE de Kock has filed comments for the meeting on Thursday, 14 February, at Meydan in Dubai:
Race 2: Meydan Sprint
“Our runner is Mujaafy (photo), who has travelled from South Africa but unfortunately was plagued with problems when he was based at Newmarket, and also after his arrival in Dubai. We’ve fallen some way behind with this training programme so we’re going in blind, he will have to race himself fit and will improve with the run.
Race 3: Firebreak Stakes
“Janoobi has been disappointing on turf this season and we’re running out of options with him, so we’ve decided to try dirt. His style of running suggests he may just like the dirt, but only the race will show. He’s a horse with plenty of ability but he’s been in-and-out in Dubai, inconsistent like he was in South Africa. Let’s see what happens, we’re hoping.”
Race 7: Wheels Handicap
“We were disappointed with Astronomer’s first run, he finished much further back than we thought he would. His coat has improved, he is physically well but his work is more or less the same as it was before his Dubai debut, so again it’s a question of the race will show what kind of progress he has made.”

Very interesting Meydan card, feel that there will be a few long shots coming home and I hope that I have selected the correct ones. Meeting should kick off with the fav Mawahib winning.

Phalesteen finished its debut run well, after running green in the first half of the race and @ 66/1 is way way too big. Gone each way
