Aquanaut could win a Gold Bowl - Mike Stewart raided and won a big race for Podlas I think - Ramsden also raided and won something big if I recall - I don't see why they don't come up for this race instead of going to Kzn especially as the long Turffs straight will suite them - Maybe we will see them

I'm not sure too lazy is the reason, there are always the fairy tales about horses that are never the same after running at altitude. Mr H correctly dispels this with the examples that he has given, and what better example than Aquanaut, I remember fondly his wins when the Gold Bowl rightly had Gr.1 status. My thoughts are the Cape lads ( with some exceptions ) can't be bothered to support their own program outside of the big days, why would they be bothered to support something 1600kms away? Umhlanga in the winter is a far more cosy option than Little Nigeria at any time.
