Lets be fair Paul Matchett looks like he has a flying machine without the hype and sure price tag to match the Fizz.
If we consider the beeding of Gin Fizz i am sure it was never expected to be a spinter.
Time will tell but i am sure plenty to come from both.
Plus i would be delighted to be involved with even the tail in future.

Good punting

GIN FIZZ played up before the race.

Ignore this run and you will see the real deal next time out!!

......nothing wrong with Basadi Faith's genetics either as she is related to that super race filly National Colour.....and a big offer was made before her win yesterday......good for Paul and connections as he finds a goodie more often than most....;)

She was also very skittish in the parade ring kicking those plastic rails.

Mat de Kocks assessment:

“We were beaten fair and square, we have no excuses. Gin Fizz ran a good second to what looks like a well above average filly.”

Beat by a flying machine and greenness.

Much improved run from debut

I'm very happy for Dev Habib - after all the misfortunes he suffered, seems to be back on an even keel - very similar story to when he rode Asylum Seeker (now quite a few years ago - how time flies) for us - not one of the imported (or very expensive if locally bred) yearlings - small owner(s), not the most fashionable stable - horses surprises us B)

Now the question is what next - surely the Fillies Nursery - and will they try the Golden Slipper and the other juv feature in KZN - nothing to lose I suppose
