Frodo wrote: Lots of action, but I agree not easy to make money as many of the hotties seem hard to beat; thoughts ....

R2: Nothing between Duke of Swing and Stockbridge; Silver Spectrum should improve over the distance; value imo is the filly Gliiter Path who found all sorts of trouble in her last start; Jet Power can still improve

R3: Gin Fizz may be good enough; Me Time good form and looks nice each-way value; Singforafa finding big support so who knows

R4: A bit tougher than the fillies - nothing between the top 4 in the betting and I don't think anything else can feature

R5: Mighty High the obvious one; if she fails anything can win imo; Van Halen the dark horse coming back to the Highveld after disappointing in the Cape

R6: Soqrat's race to lose; Cascapedia and Legal Eagle the logical backups; not a lot between Cascapedia and Al Danza (hampered close to the finish last time)

R7: None of these has gone further than 2000, so surprise possible; Blossom seem most likely, but maybe Second Request could prove a danger over the distance

R8: Hawwaam looks impossible to beat; maybe places on Gift of the Gap could prove the right move

R9: Could be the ruin of many P6 bets; Noble Secret tries further, but does look a worthy favorite; I think the proven stayers Walter Smoothie and Letitrain (big MR drop) could make him run

After this it gets competitive, so I'll probably just watch

Enjoy B)

Great preview.

I really like CHITENGO in Race 7.

Horse is bred for this distance. Gavin to get one on the board!

Is he that good?
Could train on to be top but he was weighted to win this race easily yet he only beat Cirillo(6.5 kg's out at the weights)by around a length or so.
And Unagi,3rd,must have been around 14kg's out at the weights.
I think Legal Eagle could be finished now.

Yes. You cannot expect a horse to put his best performance every race. They are horseflesh and racing will never be an exact science. Nobody will remember that Soqrat won the Horse Chestnut by 1 length when in theory he should have won by 5 lengths. What they will remember is that he's a 3 time GR 1 winner.

I always maintain, easy game if you back the good ones in the big group races, here and abroad.

Onto LE, yes he's past his best. You guys should have realised this when Anton left him for Rainbow Bridge in the Sun Met. There is no bigger fan of legal eagle than Marcus so when he hopped off him, the writing was on the wall.

Great race. Return Flight cracking win but the slow pace did help her much more than blossom. Needed to be a lot closer and she would have won.

Who rode Blossom?
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Strydom sensed that the pace was slow and did something.
The rider of Blossom(I think it was Ferraris, and if it was,his oupa will have something to say)just sat in last position and rode for luck.
Always good to see a jockey use his head.
