TRAINER COMMENTS :

RACE 1 :

* GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 2, 5 and 6 - ANOTHER LEXINGTON, FALLING FOR
YOU & FIRST KNIGHT : Expecting improvement from Another Lexington.
Falling for You is a nice type and if not too green can be
thereabouts. First Knight is colty and will be green.
* SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 8 and 9 - LUMOS & MASTEROFTHEPARTY :
Lumos needed the experience of the first run and on that day he was
above himself. He has strengthened up and if he behaves he should
improve. Masteroftheparty has his first run. We never push our babies
into their first runs, he isn’t expected to place, but we’d always be
grateful for a cheque!
ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 1, 4, 7 and 10 - ADALGISO, CAFE CUBANO, LUCIO
& SPIN MASTER : Adalgiso races fresh and can improve. Hoping for
improvement from Cafe Cubano. Lucio and Spin Master have their first
runs.

RACE 2 :

1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :

* MONTANNA TURNER (GEORGE UREN) - Numbers 1 and 3 - GRAVITATION &
DAY’S OF THUNDER : Gravitation enjoyed his little break, the blinkers
are on, he has freshened up well and is expected to run well. Day’s of
Thunder could find the 1200m sharp and we’re aiming him at a 1400m
towards the end of the month, but he is working well and could pop up.
* TARA LAING - Numbers 2 and 8 - ZABIVAKA & BREVIN : The field is
not too strong and Zabivaka must have a chance. Brevin is ideally
looking for further but could place.
JACQUES STRYDOM - Numbers 4 and 9 - TARIQUE & CLEVER CLOGGS :
Tarique has a place chance. Hoping for improvement from Clever Cloggs.
GAVIN SMITH - Number 5 - ROCKS AND DAGGERS : He has a place chance.

RACE 3 :

* TARA LAING - Numbers 1, 4 and 7 - FREE AGENT, BOLD VIKING &
SABBATICAL : Free Agent has been running better over longer trips of
recent but previously has achieved well over the mile and is not
without chance. Bold Viking won very well last time out and must have
a good chance again. Sabbatical is back on grass and improvement is
expected.
* ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 3 and 6 - GREEN LANTERN & ARABIAN DYNASTY :
In a small field both horses have place chances.
GAVIN SMITH - Number 5 - PAPER TOWN : He races off a break but can place.

RACE 4 :

1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :

* TARA LAING - Number 4 - RAVEN GIRL : She won her last very well
and has a good chance at managing three wins in a row.
* ALAN GREEFF - Number 7 - PERFECTPROPORTIONS : She ran a good race
in a Pinnacle last time out and with a nice low galloping weight here
will be competitive again.
GAVIN SMITH - Number 3 - KLEVER KATHY : She is working well but
takes on a strong field.
GRANT PADDOCK - Number 6 - MAKING MIRACLES : She’s back off an
injury enforced break and will need this as well as it being too short
for her.

RACE 5 :

* ALAN GREEFF - Number 9 - VIA SACRA : She has a nice low weight, is
at best over 1000m and can place.
* TARA LAING - Numbers 3, 6 and 8 - EXELERO, OMEGA ONSLAUGHT & PATA
PATA : Exelero might find the 1000m a bit sharp. It’s a very strong
field but Omega Onslaught could place. Pata Pata will need this.
GAVIN SMITH - Number 10 - ALAMITO BAY : He is working well but it is
a very competitive line up.

RACE 6 :

* CANDICE BASS-ROBINSON (comments prior to travel) - Number 2 -
BALLAD OF THE SEA : He is nice sort and though he is drawn a bit wide
if all goes well he’s got a decent chance.
* SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 5 and 7 - MULTI GOLD & ANGEL OF ATHENS :
Multi Gold is proving a genuine stayer and is a runner. Angel of
Athens tries the trip, she could earn.
JACQUES STRYDOM - Numbers 6, 9 and 11 - FRIKKIE, ONESIE & OMAHA
TRIBE : Frikkie is fit and well. Onesie is loving her work at the
moment, she will need to settle in the race and the trip is a
question, but she is well. Omaha Tribe takes his chances in a strong
line up.
MONTANNA TURNER (GEORGE UREN) - Number 10 - BLUE SAGE : She has her
first for the yard. She is a small filly, definitely a stayer, but
this will be a learning curve.
GRANT PADDOCK - Number 6 - MAKING MIRACLES : She’s back off an
injury enforced break and will need this as well as it being too short
for her.
GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 4 and 8 - EVOLVER & CHAPPAQUIDDICK : Both of
them stay very well. Chappaquiddick will enjoy his light weight.

RACE 7 :

* ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 5, 6 and 7 - JALEIKA, SOLEMN PROMISE & EPIC
STORM : Jaleika is definitely a runner on her Oaks Plate win last time
out. Solemn Promise has her first run for the yard, she is working
very well and is not one to overlook. Epic Storm has her post maiden
run up quite a bit in class, she could perhaps place.
* GEOFF WOODRUFF (comments prior to travel) - Number 8 - FLY THOUGHT
: Though her merit rating is low I do believe she is better than her
form suggests. There aren’t many opportunities for her locally and she
needs the trip and a good hard gallop. She is better than her rating.
GAVIN SMITH - Number 9 - JUST CALL ME ANGEL : She takes her chances
in a competitive line up.
JACQUES STRYDOM - Number 10 - BOLDNESS : She is badly handicapped
unfortunately, but will enjoy the trip.
SHARON KOTZEN - Number 1 - JUST CHAOS : She needed her last and the
prep into it wasn’t ideal. The 2000m should suit, she’s drawn well and
if she puts her best foot forward she should be involved in the shake
up.

RACE 8 :

* GRANT PADDOCK - Numbers 1 and 5 - DROP KICK & COUNTRY ROCK : Drop
Kick has come on a lot from his Guineas run, he loves the trip, is
working very well and has a winning chance. I’m not yet convinced that
Country Rock stays, perhaps a quartet chance.
* SHARON KOTZEN - Number 6 - WOOD FOR THE TREES : Due to a lack of
suitable staying races, he didn’t really have the best of preps into
this run but we do think he can be competitive.
GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 7, 8 and 10 - TOM ‘N JERRY, WILDCAT & PEKING
TYSON : Tom ‘n Jerry races fresh, he may prefer Poly. Wildcat and
Peking Tyson try further.
JACQUES STRYDOM - Number 9 - CAPE LEOPARD : He does seem at best on Poly.
ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 2 and 4 - IN A PERFECT WORLD & ADALFIERI : In
a Perfect World hasn’t quite proven himself over the trip yet, he
could place. Adalfieri needs to settle could place.

RACE 9 :

* ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 1, 2, 4, 9, 10 and 12 - CARLITA, MAKE IT
RAINE, QUICK GLIMPSE, SILVER WILLOW, OKLAHOMA SKY & DALLEY : Carlita
needed her last and has a winning chance. Make it Raine posted a good
win last time out and is a consistent filly. Quick Glimpse is back to
course and distance that she loves, she can do better. Hoping for
improvement from Oklahoma Sky. Silver Willow and Dalley will need
their runs.
* TARA LAING - Numbers 6 and 7 - WESTON & WINTER’S FORGE : Weston is
coming back from a break, she could just need this but is working very
well. Winter’s Forge needed her first local run and could get a lot
closer.
GAVIN SMITH - Number 8 - SMART SUZY : It’s a strong field but she
loves course and distance.
MONTANNA TURNER (GEORGE UREN) - Numbers 12 and 13 - RIVER DELTA &
VANILLA ORCHID : River Delta has her first run back after a long lay
off and will need it. Vanilla Orchid is a temperamental filly, she is
quick but all needs to go her way and we are just hoping to see her
behave and run a fair race.

My wife is not happy that there is racing on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
A nice card at Fairview.
Race 2: Days of Thunder is the right one here if he jumps on terms.
Race 3: Arabian Dynasty not a bad run last time after a break, and looks good ew value.
Race 5: Sir Frenchie looks the right one. Dangers are Excellero and Princess Rebel
Race 6: Our mare Angel of Athens scratched - hurt herself in the box last night. Would have loved to have seen whether she stays this trip. Ballad of the Sea is a worthy favourite, but I like Multi Gold ew. Hope the old campaigner Frikkie can run a good race.
Race 7: Just Chaos last two very disappointing, but on her best form she wins this and is massive ew value. Madonna and Snapscan should fill the trifecta.
Race 8: Wood for the Trees showed great improvement last time, and has a good ew chance. Drop Kick and Country Rock are best in at the weights, and are the ones we have to beat.
Race 9: Carlita is the class horse here and if at her best should win. Make it Raine and Via Seattle the main dangers.
