Some ordinary racing after the features elsewhere this weekend.
Race 1: Rio Querari is overdue his maiden win and looks a warm order although a very skinny price. Capkuta looks next best of the raced runners.
Race 2: Norfolk Pine and Six Degrees drop back in trip, but should both be concerned with the finish. Gold Pact has been a bit inconsistent, but his jockey now knows him and he is learning how to race. He is fit and well and has an ew chance.
Race 3: Louisa May ran below best last time but on her best form is the one to beat. Petite Bijou has fair form and could challenge. Crimea has a good draw and is lightly raced with scope for improvement. Alfred’s Girl and Philomena could earn a cheque.
Race 4: Pace is always a concern in these staying races without an obvious pace setter. Andre Nel has two useful entrants although both going beyond 2000m for the first time. Nothing stands out in this field.
Mist of Time has improved last two and he is fit and well- he has a good ew chance.
Race 5: We think that Drama Queen is a decent filly and has an ew chance, especially with the in form Bernie riding, but I am a bit surprised that she has been opened up favourite. There is little between her and the other three winners on exposed form. Sailing Ship and Amy Johnson put up decent debuts and the 2kg pull in the weights may prove decisive.
Race 6: All winners at level weights, but another very tricky race. Armando was the easiest winner, but I can’t see value at 11/10 . Riding arrangements would suggest Captain Tatters is the Snaith elect and Fearless Warrior the Marshall choice. Ground Control looks decent ew value at 10/1.
Race 7: Clouds Unfold and Dutch Philip are a cut above the others at best. Dutch has run below best recently, and although this is a prep run for Clouds she could be the right one. It’s very open if one of these two does not win, with Bwana perhaps the best of the rest. Agent of Fortune is an interesting runner- he beat Cirillo at his only start last year at level weights, and he could be anything.
Race 8: Natural Jade has improved steadily with each start, and is the one to beat. The 2yo Chasing Green has fair form and should challenge. The first timer 2yos could be anything.

R3, don't leave Hercules Girl (10/1) out your play. They have fitted blinkers and from a good draw she could race handy and go all the way to the line. Just heard the trainer say she is showing good work back home and has a strong place chance. The Marshall stable are never shy to front run their horses, I'll be with this one.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.
