The reasoning provided by Bloomberg makes total sense however Davis' remark is high handed and once again the management within racing seek to justify simply because there is absolutely no strategy or proper planning. The more things change the more they stay the same.

All large businesses have already planned for the Elections on May 8 which the whole country has been aware of for ages.

Step 1 : Apply for special early voting permission for all racing staff that are registered voters.
Step 2 : If step 1 fails then ensure that all registered voters are at polling stations as early as possible to vote.
Step 3 : Apply for a "priority" voting card to possibly jump the queue if possible.
Step 3 : Schedule a night meeting at either Greyville or Turfontein to ensure that all racing staff concerned have voted by the time the meeting starts.
Step 4 : Do not come up with last minute changes that need justification, it only flaunts the blatant managerial incompetence.
