I would love to have an Epsom Oaks winner that is mediocre as Anapurna
I would seriously love to own a horse as mediocre as Cracksman that merely won the Champion Stakes twice, the Coronation Cup and the Prix Ganay
Move to Japan where the obviously mediocre Soul Stirring won the Hanshin Juvenile Fillies and Yushun Himba
Call the Wind would probably be a MR56 in Kimberley but won the Prix du Caran
Dream Castle a seriously moderate horse won the Jebel Hatta
Mozu Ascot couldn't get out of his own way bush racing but managed to win the Yasuda Kinen
Without Parole another really bad horse won the St James's Palace Stakes

What can one do with a stallion that throws winners in 11 countries ?
Over 20 black type winners in that one hit wonders first 76 winners
Sons already at stud all over the world
Reaching 20 Northern Hemisphere Group winners faster than any other stallion in Europe must be properly mediocre
17% Gr winners to foals and 28% black type performers must have breeders wondering why they sent their mares to a stallion that is so mediocre

......seriously one would like to own anything in the top 3% of best sires best performers including that of Frankel Dubawi Galileo Shamadal ....however according to the stats on Thoroughbred Stallions guide in 2017 in UK/IRE Frankel failed to make the top 30 Sire runners to winners with his 1st crop racing but remarkably was in 3rd position of black type winners for that season...then in 2018 he was rated 20th for Sire runners to winners but went to 5th position with black type winners.....In 2019 he is currently in 8th position runners to winners and 2nd in black type winners....which means that he has a much greater % chance of having winners of group or graded races.... than most of his peers on the rankings....ultimately one is going to have to then pay more for service fee.....and bid much higher in a sales ring....a big bid may secure a wider chance of say as much as 10% of a Black type stakes winner... but still 90% chance of getting something....mediocre....

NB these are his best stats taken in UK/IRE only....in Japan they feature high too....USA currently No 21..... does not feature in Europe yet nor in RSA ....where his progeny averaged on sales of over a few ZAR BAR a piece..... MDK ran one of those fillies in this week.....:S

Well, he stands at 175grand so I'd imagine none of his progeny can go cheap. When one glances at the most expensive yearlings, impeccably bred horses like the infamous Snaafi Dancer, there is never a guarantee of the horse matching the price tag. Cue Andrew Bon's "they don't know what price they are running at or how much they commanded at the sales ring."
