Hopefully one of De Kock's entrants ensures a decent gallop, failing which Twist Of Fate will do the double.

Must obviously feel it has a winning chance, if not, can take a decent share of the R2M on offer if finishing second or third. There's only 8 runners, the first 5 or 6 might qualify for a stake cheque, i am referring to Soqrat.

these nominations makes me think Barahin is the MDK July horse. Like he said on his website

Hawaam in the July in case Barahin gets drawn 18/18

Soqrat looks to be a miler at this stage. the rising sun would seem a better option

Atjaab was disappointing over the week end. probably a pace maker

Soqrat won't run here. 95% sure he will run in the Gold Challenge unless he gets a terrible draw there.

And the recent implementation of the Handicappers' guidelines will not encourage broad participation. WFA and set weight races will henceforth be a case of quality over quantity, which is not a bad thing as long as the riders take the initiative and go a solid pace as they generally do in England even when the fields are small. Only 5 likely to face the starter for the Winter Classic at Kenilworth but an intriguing race nontheless!!
