The following is a summary of decisions that were made by the Licensing Committee at their meeting held earlier today:
1. The Committee resolved to:-

1.1 grant, subject to a satisfactory medical examination and an undertaking to arrive in Hong Kong no later than Sunday, 18 August 2019:

‧ A full-season Club Jockey’s licence to each of the following applicants for the 2019/2020 racing season:-

‧ Joao MOREIRA
‧ Zac PURTON
‧ Umberto RISPOLI
‧ Chad SCHOFIELD
‧ Karis TEETAN
‧ Grant VAN NIEKERK

‧ A part-season Club Jockey’s licence to each of the following applicants for the 2019/2020 racing season to commence on 15 July 2019 and to expire on 29 February 2020, both dates inclusive:-

‧ Neil CALLAN
‧ Aldo DOMEYER
‧ Lyle HEWITSON
‧ Blake SHINN

The HK season ends 14th July and they close through August till early September.

Serious shortage of good riders left or coming through the ranks imo

Been watching this kid S Moodley for a while, don’t know about his attitude but if someone gives him a chance, he rides beautifully. I really think he can go places, just needs a fair chance in a decent yard. Hopefully he gets it soon. Being a jockey is more about attitude and having being blessed to meet Lyle, Anton and the famous Moore, all I can see is...all 3 are like each other, great attitudes no matter who they are dealing with. Professional!

Agree. The insurance company’s paid out to easily so we lost lost the best.
