We made 227 against India - they only got up in 48th over
Chasing 330 odd against Bangladesh, we managed 309 - would not have been close to that if amla made his usual 50 off 75 balls
Some scores from ball faced in this world cup:
Roy (54.53)Root (51.59)Gayle (54.33)Finch (66.49)Guptill(73.51)Munro(58.47)Imam(44.58)Azam (63.66)
Perera (78.81)
Why play amla at all? - if he makes 40 or more- -lose - not enough runs, and a big liability fielding

pitch was not flat slow and spongy a batter could never get in not even kane williamson ever looked in we bowled terribly to colin he did not hit 1 boundary on the off side bowled halfway down the wicket on a slow pitch he tried to hit 1 6 over mid off and was caught.. we had enough runs on the board imo on that pitch not 1 slower ball was hit for a 6 ... small things didnt go our way and that happens in life and cricket when you down you down just like the horses some days you cant catch 1 winner in 8 9 races.... we havnt played well in this tournament but you cant blame Amla.. Makrams Rabada du plessis miller have all done nothing.. our best player at this world cup is Andile then Quinton.. but south africa played there best cricket of the tournament yesterday and they are not chokers they are just beeing out played by better one day cricketing teams and better players who do the basics better than we do and have more match winners than we do

Going to be a very looooong 18 days left in England for the Proteas, hopefully they get along well with each other.

It is time to get Neil McKenzie and Mark Boucher involved in the coaching. Let them build a team!

agree get some old school coaches that drill basics hard Neil Mackenzie batting coach for Bangladesh and they looking good

My point is, when you pick amla, you are well on your way to losing.

When you say Andile (I take it you mean Andile Phehlukwayo) is one of our best performers – has taken 7/227 and scored 83 from 121
Morris (not selected initially) has taken 9/171 and scored 58 from 51 (one dnb)

The records will show that hash is the fastest to 3000 and 5000 runs and also 2nd quickest by 1 game to 8000 runs to kohli ..it wasnt amlas fault that sa didnt win yesterday it was not doing the basics correctly ...

We cant blame the players & coach there. This is the best side we have based on the current quota system. Yes its sad, but thats what happens when we forced to go in a direrction. It will take a few years before our players get to be world beaters again. I have now realized that its no sense in geting frustrated or angry its just the way it is, we can only do things thats in our control.
